We highly recommend this tour; we sampled 12 dishes at 7 different locations. We had a wonderful evening with the very friendly guide Mr. Binh. He catered to our needs, explaining the origins, ingredients, and preparation of each dish. He also shared cultural insights beyond the food itself, giving us a glimpse behind the scenes. We were already familiar with some of the dishes, having spent time in Vietnam, but thanks to the selection of cuisines and restaurants, we were able to try some particularly delicious variations and plan to visit several places again. These were kitchens we, as tourists, would never have found or visited on our own. We brought a child along on the tour, and it is suitable for children, but be careful that your child does not overindulge in the delicious food at the beginning, otherwise they will regret it when they cannot eat anything else later. What a brilliant experience to taste the flavours of Hanoi! I actually was a little nervous as I wasn’t particularly hungry leading up to it but that quickly changed when our tour guide Binh took us to all these wonderful little out of the way places - some of which we probably wouldn’t have found on our own. Delightful little servings at each stop were delicious & Binh explained the significance & culture behind them. Our bellies were full by the end, culminating in a dessert stop & then a final stop for Vietnam’s famous egg coffee with a view! It was well worth doing & to make it extra fun, Binh taught us some Vietnamese lingo along the way & has such an infectious laugh & sense of humour! một, hai, ba, reo hò Binh!
Our guide Binh gave us great insight into local, Vietnamese food, and I tried lots of things for the first time, and they were all really tasty. We finished of with an egg coffee on a rooftop bar overlooking the lake, which I would never have found without Binh as you had to walk through a dress shop, it was well hidden. Binh is very knowledgeable, he also has a great sense of humour we had so much fun
What an amazing tour! We had a fantastic time exploring Hanoi's Street food with Binh. He was extremely generous, answering all our questions about different cultural aspects of the city. We would never have found the places he took us to on our own. It was great to experience eateries where locals go and taste different dishes. Binh explained how the dishes came to be, telling us about the history and the different ingredients. The food was delicious! Fantastic tour. We would highly recommend!
We have just been on the most amazing food tour through Vietnam’s diverse cuisine, and it was undoubtedly one of the highlights in Hanoi. We came across 10 different dishes, each representing different landscapes and taste nuances in the country. The trip was a Travel for the taste loaves Although the names of the dishes were hard to remember, we never forget the taste. We tried everything from: • The classic, crisp Banh Mi with the perfect filling. • A velvety soft Egg Coffee that tasted almost like liquid tiramisu. • The delicious little nems (spring rolls) that were so fresh that they crushed right. • A steaming warm and aromatic Phở that was served in a small side street we would never even have found. Our guide, Binh, was quite phenomenal. He is incredibly telling and generously shared the stories behind the many dishes, giving us a much deeper understanding of the Vietnamese culture. What really meant a lot to us was Bin’s ability to meet our needs. We were a little craving, so we were excited about how it would go – but Binh listened to our wishes and made sure every dish hit a spot. He safely navigated us out of the things we were skeptical of, introducing us instead to delicious alternatives. During the tour Binh took us into the small, hidden alleys and to local stalls that you as a tourist would never have discovered on your own. It felt authentic and safe all the way through and we would recommend him 100 percent.
Amazing tour! We visited 6 different food spots and tried close to 10 dishes in total. The locations were all quite unique, and most of the patrons were locals. The experience felt really authentic. Our guide, Binh, was very friendly and incredibly detailed in his explanations. He took the time to share the origins of the dish, as well as the background of some local sights along the way. He was also very accommodating to our dietary requirements and flexible with the itinerary. We mentioned a few dishes that we wanted to try, and he had brought us to them. There is a fair bit of walking involved, but it never felt too tiring as Binh kept us engaged by sharing insights about Vietnamese culture throughout the tour. He even brought us into a small alley to show us what local apartment living is like. We were dropped off at the train street per our request after the food tour. Would definitely recommend this food tour if you’re in Hanoi :)
Wow, wow, wow!! My wife and I decided to do this walking food tour of Hanoi. Once again, wow! By the end, we were so full and had eaten amazing food in very unique locations, that we would never have found on our own. Bihn (Bing) our guide was excellent. His instructions and punctuality were spot on. He made sure we were prepared, comfortable and safe. He has a great smile too. Each location we went to we tried one dish. Every dish was a specialty at that location.. most of the locations were only Vietnamese people the locals. They know their food and where to get the best.. The Phò location I guaranteed no one will find without a guide. It was packed with locals a tiny little room that is usually somebody’s house. It is a restaurant for locals until 7 PM and then transforms back into their home. Make sure to put a little bit of the chilli paste in oh my goodness it is to die for. The journey is flat, but make sure to take some comfortable walking shoes. There are a few locations that have stairs that you have to go up. Bihn will ask you if there are any items that you do not want for any dietary restrictions. He is very attentive to you and your needs and will make your evening very comfortable. My wife and I enjoyed the evening so much we would consider one of the highlights of our trip. We were dropped off at our hotel with full bellies and big smiles. Thank you Bihn.
