Our private tour of the National Museum of Anthropology was one of the highlights of our visit to Mexico City. Having a private guide made an enormous difference, as they brought the museum’s incredible exhibits to life with fascinating stories, historical context, and cultural insights that we never would have discovered on our own. The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about Mexico’s rich history and heritage. They tailored the tour to our interests, answered all of our questions, and made even the most complex topics easy to understand. The museum can feel overwhelming because of its size, but the private tour ensured we saw the most important exhibits while gaining a deeper appreciation for Mexico’s ancient civilizations. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Mexico City. It was informative, enjoyable, and well worth it—a truly unforgettable way to explore one of the world’s finest anthropology museums.
Our guide came with another person to help which meant we had to tip two people instead of one, which I did not like. Both were OK but sometimes the english was difficult to understand. I felt a little rushed at times because it is such a huge vast museum and I saw other guides showing and explaining things which our guide did not. Both guides were very nice people.
Dear Traveler we are so sorry for this issue, the Guide was trying to train a new prospect but she didn't have the right to bring her without you authorising it first, we have contacted the Guide about it so that we won't happen again we apologise for the inconvenience
We had an absolutely wonderful time. Our tour guide, Rosa was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The museum had so much great stuff to see and experience, and we were absolutely better off seeing it with someone like Rosa who could walk us through it all!
Our guide ,Jesus was simply brilliant. His knowledge and explanation of the Meshica/Aztec history was exemplary. The personal touch explaining the significance of the different artifacts in the collection almost brought back the historical era to life. In addition, the Mayan & Spanish era added meaning to the colourful rainbow tapestry of the current Mexican people. Thank you Jesus!
Fer was very knowledgeable and sprinkled in enough anecdotes to keep it lively.
Arturo was an exceptional guide for our private Museum of Anthropology tour — extremely informative, engaging, and clearly passionate about the subject. As history buffs, my wife and I deeply appreciated his command of Mesoamerican history and his ability to weave the artifacts into the broader stories of the Aztec, Maya, Olmec, and other civilizations on display. The museum is massive and could easily be overwhelming on your own, but Arturo knew exactly which exhibits to focus on and provided rich historical context throughout. Highly recommend.
Wonderful guide! Liss was very knowledgable and helpful. The museum itself is huge so this tour felt like the tip of the iceberg, but was a good way to get an overview. Would recommend!
Really important to have a first class tour guide. We want to highly commend Ismael, who shared his deep knowledge better than any other we have experienced ( and we are world travellers) Also: There was a problem on the subway and he was about 20 mins late but he gave us an extra hour to make up for it.l! It was a pleasure to be with him. Please give him all our gratitude for his care and hard work. It was a privilege for us. Louise Dennys
The museum is so large that you need a guide so that the best bits are selected. Rosa did just this in a nice chronological order.
Jesus was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It was a very interesting and informative tour. I highly recommend him.
