Vi besöker The Zaanse Schans, en charmig historisk bevarande by fylld med traditionella hus och ikoniska väderkvarnar. Du får möjlighet att utforska väderkvarnarna, titta på träskor som tillverkas och njuta av en härlig ostprovningsupplevelse. Efteråt beger vi oss till Keukenhof, världens vackraste vårträdgård! Trädgårdarna är öppna från 20 mars till 11 maj 2025 och har cirka 7 miljoner vårblommor, inklusive tulpaner, påskliljor, hyacinter och krokusar. Tänk på att blommorna inte blommar samtidigt, så visningen kan variera under säsongen.

Du kommer att hämtas från ditt hotell i Amsterdam.
Vi anländer till The Zaanse Schans. Detta är en bevarandeby med en mängd olika historiska hus, lager och fungerande industriella väderkvarnar. Det känns som att du reser tillbaka i tiden! Du får uppleva hur livet var mellan 1700- och 1800-talen. Vi kommer att njuta av en trevlig promenad förbi de gamla trähusen med sina bevarade originaldetaljer, som ceremoniella dörrar och snidade överliggare, smaka på lokal choklad i chokladbutiken, och avsluta med ett besök på en fungerande väderkvarn.
På Henry Willigs ostfarm kommer vi att ha en Gouda och Edam ostprovning. De är i topp 10 av världens osttillverkare. Om du är en ostälskare ... är du i osthimlen! De har 30 smaker och designar ostarna specifikt för resor.
Träskohantverksdemonstration. Alltid velat veta hur en träsko tillverkas? Gå med i träskohantverksdemonstrationen och ta reda på det. I träskomuseet kommer vi att berätta allt om träskor. Du kan till och med prova eller köpa ett par träskor!
Ett besök på världens sista färgbruk "De Kat". Den byggdes ursprungligen 1781. Det är en åttakantig kvarn med en roterande mössa och ett yttre galleri. Sedan dess restaurering och delvis återuppbyggnad 1960 har den varit utrustad för att slipa färgmaterial som pigment. Efter en förklaring om hur väderkvarnen fungerar har du möjlighet att klättra uppför väderkvarnen och göra vackra bilder på det externa galleriet.

Had an awesome day visiting windmills and viewing tulips with Esther! She had great insight into how windmills work and millers operate, being a miller’s daughter herself (hence Windmill Girl!). She also knew all the best photo spots and took great photos! Super friendly and generous, too, with great taste in music. We had a super fun day with her!

Incredible trip! Esther was fun, friendly and informative. Loved the local knowledge and ties to the area. Early in flower season she made sure we saw as much as possible, just one among many efforts made to see that we had an exceptional day. Our guide’s name was Esther and she is a native of Nederland and actually grew up in a working windmill that her parents still own and operate today. Bring a local means that she has additional information and unique perspectives to share as you go from place to place. We did the windmill and tulip tour. It was March 21st so just a bit too early to see the tulips in bloom. We did still see fields of yellow daffodils which were pretty, but the tour was quite expensive and we were a bit disappointed that the tulip farm didn’t offer a “low season” rate or at least throw in lunch or something. I would definitely recommend hiring Esther as your guide, but if you’re going to see the tulips, she tells us that mid-April until end of May is the best time to go.

The Keukenhof gardens are only open for seven weeks a year, and it all depends on Mother Nature what will be in bloom during that time.
