St Johns fästning (Sveti Ivan) är ett av stadens imponerande medeltida försvar. Tornen har anor från 1300-talet och huvudbyggnaden är från 1500-talet. St Johns fästning kallas ofta Mulo-tornet och är ett annat nyckelfort i försvarskomplexet Dubrovniks stadsmur.

The tour is exclusively on top of the city walls which gives a unique perspective of the old city, the sea and everything below. Our excellent guide provided not only a thorough history of Dubrovnik and it’s famous fortress, but also what life was like then, the many invaders and wars leading up to the fall of communism and the beginning of the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1991. We also learned much about contemporary life in Dubrovnik and Croatia as well. All this while walking up and down the 1,080 steps of the Walls Tour. Our guide and the experience were great. Our party of 3 highly recommend!

Our tour guide Jelena was fabulous. She shared very interesting facts about the beginning of the wall as well as most recent history regarding the wars in the 90’s. She was very interesting, and had a great sense of humor. We would recommend this tour to all - especially if Jelena is the guide.
