Sista delen av dagen tar oss till Rasnovs fästning eller till Poiana Brasov. Och eftersom vi gillar att vara flexibla föreslår vi att du själv väljer det sista stoppet. Alternativt kan vi åka till Poiana Brasov, för en trevlig promenad i Rumäniens mest kända bergsresort. Det första stoppet vi gör är vid Peles slott. Det anses vara den viktigaste historiska (tyskinfluerade) arkitektoniska ensemblen i Rumänien. På grund av dess historiska och konstnärliga värde är det fortfarande ett av de viktigaste och vackraste monumenten i Europa och en av de mest besökta turistattraktionerna i Rumänien (2:a plats efter Bran Castle). Slottet kommer säkert att imponera på dig genom sin överflöd, genom att det har 160 rum och att det vid sin tid var helt elektrifierat. Den hade också en hiss och ett flyttbart glastak som öppnades på begäran. Kungen brukade imponera på sina gäster genom att visa dem den stjärnklara sommarnatthimlen.
Nästa stopp: Draculas slott, förmodligen bostad för greve Dracula Du kommer inte ångra ett ögonblick om du väljer att besöka detta slott, särskilt eftersom det ligger ganska nära Brasov. Du kommer helt enkelt att bli förtrollad av slottets skönhet och särskilt av läget och omgivningarna. Så jag inbjuder dig att låta dig ryckas med av historia och kultur och du kommer att lämna hemmet med en extraordinär positiv laddning av din själ. Bran Castle är genomsyrad av historia. Greve Draculas karaktär dyker först upp i romanen "Dracula", skriven av den irländska författaren Bram Stoker och publicerad 1897 i England. Ursprungligen är namnet Dracula inte alls skrämmande. Det härstammar från namnet som gavs till en korsfararorden, Drakens Orden, som både Vlad the Impaler och hans far Vlad Dracul (en medlem av denna order) var förknippade med.
Det sista stoppet är ditt val: Rasnov fästning eller Poiana Brasov Râșnov fästning är en av de vackraste fästningarna i det rumänska landet. Den har valts ut av många regissörer för inspelning under olika epoker, en av de viktigaste filmerna som spelades in här är Cold Mountain, den Oscarsbelönade filmen med Nicole Kidman i huvudrollen. Denna steniga topp har försvarats sedan daciernas tid, för mer än två tusen år sedan, vilket nya arkeologiska upptäckter bevisar. Vid en tidpunkt då Bran Castle ännu inte hade byggts var Rasnov en viktig punkt för handel och beskattning av köpmän av kungadömet. Härifrån kan du se åsarna i Bucegi, Postăvaru-massivet och Piatra Craiului. Du kan också se nästan hela staden Râșnov, en kombination av rumänsk och saxisk kultur, som ligger på 650 m höjd.
Poiana Brasov är den mest eftertraktade och populära fjällorten i hela landet. Här, vinter efter vinter, samlas tusentals turister som brinner för vintersporter som skidåkning och snowboard. Poiana Brasov liknar en liten stad, med lyxiga hotell och bra restauranger och faller i smaken för alla som väljer att tillbringa några dagar här. Under de senaste åren har nya och moderna platser dykt upp, vilket ökar turisternas komfort och tillfredsställelse. Hotell och pensionat, turisthyddor, en kyrka, en skridskobana, en djurpark, en simbassäng, idrottsplatser, gymnastiksalar, backar utrustade med konstsnö och nattanläggningar, skidliftar, stolliftar, linbanor har byggts. En promenad i Poiana Brasov kan vara precis vad du behöver efter en dag full av historia. Valet är ditt!

Friendly, chilled and informative guide. Provided options and flexibility when attractions were closed, which meant we had the opportunity to get into the mountain villages for amazing landscape views. Lovely experience and a great trip around the Brasov region.

To anyone not sure whether they should spend the extra money on a private tour, I would say absolutely yes! Dinu, our guide was absolutely fantastic. We arrived to Brasov by train from Budapest and had to leave again for a very specific train to continue to Bucharest that night. He monitored our train's progress and was there to greet us at the station as we arrived and he made sure that we were back in time for our evening train too. At every step, he was happy to customise our tour to our liking including taking us to a couple of food spots to try out some traditional dishes. The tour has quite a bit of driving, but there was never an awkward moment between him telling us about the history of Romania and the castles, answering our questions and just sharing stories from our lives. He offered to take lots of pictures of us and patiently waited (and joined!) when we wanted to say hi to the local cats 😅 Dinu made sure that our tour was a memory that will last forever and we wish him all the best.

I spent three wonderful days traveling with Ramona and Radu, and the experience exceeded my expectations. Each day was thoughtfully planned and completely different, showcasing a wide range of sites and experiences. On the first day, we visited the fortified churches of Prejmer and Hărman, followed by time in Poiana Brașov. It was a perfect introduction to the region’s history and scenery. The second day took us off the beaten path to the Vâltorile de la Lisa (Lisa Whirlpools), the Moara cu Noroc de la Ohaba (Lucky Ohaba Mill), and the impressive Făgăraș Fortress. This day was especially memorable for its mix of local traditions and medieval history. On the third day, we explored some of Romania’s most beautiful castles: Peleș, Pelișor, and Cantacuzino, each with its own unique character and story. Ramona and Radu were fantastic throughout the entire trip. Ramona was wonderful to work with during the planning process. She listened carefully to what I wanted to see, communicated openly, and helped create an itinerary that felt personal and well‑balanced. The pricing was fair, and there were no surprises. Both Ramona and Radu were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend traveling with Day Trips Brasov!

Ramona was fantastic. She did everything she could to ensure we had a great experience. We were first in to Peles Castle and therefore could experience with minimum disruption from crowds infront of us. This did mean going through at a pace but still enough time to listen and view it all. The Citadel was not available so she offered an alternative experience and offered advice on best ways to maximise time and money. She was knowledgeable on the history of the area and shared this with passion. Her vehicle was comfortable and clean.

What a legend! Dinu, our tour guide, was not only super knowledgeable but also hilarious and so much fun to hang out with. He has this way of making history and culture feel exciting instead of boring, and he sprinkled in just the right amount of jokes and stories to keep us entertained the whole time. Honestly, it felt like exploring with a really smart friend who knows all the secret spots. He made sure everyone felt comfortable, answered every random question we threw at him, and somehow managed to make the whole group laugh and learn at the same time. Definitely the highlight of our trip! Now here’s the twist—we didn’t even want to leave this review. Not because he wasn’t amazing (he totally was), but because he’s our little secret and we don’t want anyone stealing him from us. But he insisted we write something, so fine… here it is. I hope he is not booked by somebody else when we come back 😂!
