När vi besöker en spektakulär oas i öknen tar vi en kort vandring längs bäcken till Davids vattenfall. Bäcken rinner året runt och det finns gott om ställen att paddla och svalka sig på under ett vattenfall. Se om du kan se en stenbock längs vägen.
Masada är ett gammalt palats med utsikt över Döda havet och Judeiska öknen. Vi tar en linbana till toppen och ser hur kung Herodes den store förvandlade öknen till en magnifik bostad med lyxiga rum, badhus och till och med en swimmingpool. Masada var också judarnas sista ställning i revolten mot romarna år 73 e.Kr. Vi kommer att lära oss hur romarna belägrade platsen och vad som hände med judarna när romarna till slut bröt upp murarna. Det har blivit en symbol för beslutsamhet, frihet och hjältemod.

Simon did a fantastic job as our tour guide and would highly recommend him! We did a tour of the old city and separately a Masada/Dead Sea tour and on both he was fantastic. He had a great knowledge of history, answered all our questions and made our visit to Israel very meaningful. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough great things about Simon but first I want to share a little of my story. I just visited Israel for the first time, traveling solo, this July. I was was very nervous traveling alone and wasn't sure which tour guide work with. My trip was sort of last minute when I was accepted to the JNF Educator's mission. When I reached out on social media for suggestions, I came across Simon. I am so glad I did. Simon took me to Caesarea for what was supposed to be a half day tour. Simon went above and beyond. He not only educated me about Caesarea but provided me with so much valuable information about other sites including places I would be traveling to on my own without him. A week after we met, I was in the old city in Jerusalem, I had his voice in my head remembering things he told me to look out for there. He was more than just a guide for the one day we spent together, he had a real impact on my overall Israel experience. While I didn't have time to see everything I would like to in Israel, I know when I return, I will be reaching out to Simon for future guided tours. In terms of the logistics of my tour, Simon picked me up in his very comfortable, air conditioned vehicle, and was kind enough to drop me off at a second location. And to top it all off, after visiting Caesarea on a very hot day, Simon bought me the best ice cream I had on my trip. Simon speaks very articulately and is easy to understand. I can't thank him enough and please reach out to him if you are in need of a tour guide. You will be so happy you did.
