Arataki Visitor Centre är en varm och välkomnande inkörsport till naturens underverk i Aucklands västra region. Centret fungerar både som en pedagogisk knutpunkt och en utgångspunkt för friluftsentusiaster och spelar en viktig roll för att förbinda besökare med områdets orörda skönhet och rika kulturarv.
Karekare Falls ligger i västra delen av Waitākere Ranges Regional Park, nära byn Karekare-känd som en inspelningsplats för The Piano. Med sina fantastiska omgivningar och lättillgänglighet anses detta vattenfall vara en av Nya Zeelands naturattraktioner.
Mercer Bay Loop Track börjar högt ovanför Piha och tar dig till Te Ahua udden, platsen för en viktig Māori pā (befäst by), med fantastisk utsikt upp och ner på västkusten.
Piha är en av Aucklands mest kända svarta sandstränder på västkusten. Piha är en del av Waitākere Ranges Regional Park och är en populär plats för simmare och surfare.
