Tänk på att turen äger rum i det historiska distriktet där vår diamanthistoria började, de flyttade till centralstationens område 1905 så att du kommer att kunna uppleva historien och se juvelerare på jobbet men inte se någon diamant skärare.

Vår turné börjar framför DIVA, Antwerpens diamant-, smyckes- och silversmidemuseum. Vår guide kommer att ge dig en introduktion till Antwerpens koppling till diamanter och smycken innan vi börjar vår vandring för att upptäcka grannskapet och dess kreativa juvelerare. Efter turnén rekommenderar vi starkt att besöka DIVA eftersom de är värd för en rad intressanta utställningar.
Antwerpens historia som diamanthuvudstad börjar här. Under de årliga mässorna flockas utländska köpmän till staden för att handla och köpa våra ädelstenar och smycken.
Wissel betyder växling och det här är platsen där utländska köpare brukade växla sina pengar. Allt var inte glitter och guld, eftersom du kommer att få reda på var ordet Bankrupt kommer ifrån.
Saint Pauls kyrka har en rik historia med silversmide och smycken och den har fortfarande en välsorterad skattkammare med över 3000 diamanter.
Du skulle inte kunna berätta längre, men den här gatan brukade vara en livlig shoppinggata. Smyckesbutiker på markmjöl och diamantskärare ateljéer ovanpå.

Pascale Masselis tog examen från Royal Academy of Antwerpen 1983. På din turné bjuder hon dig gärna in till sin ateljé för att visa dig sitt hantverk. Hon arbetar uteslutande med 18 karats guld och varje smycke hon skapar är unikt och handgjort i hennes egen ateljé. Smycken kan tillverkas speciellt på beställning och Pascale kommer till och med att förvandla dina gamla, omoderna smycken till moderna skatter.
Här låg tidigare silver- och guldsmedernas nationshus. Vår guide kommer att berätta om deras historia och varför det fanns ett behov av ett nationshus.
Denna pittoreska lilla gata har inte mindre än 5 juvelerare, var och en med sin egen kreativa vision och teknik. Gerda De Vrij studerade i Pforzheim under Klaus Ullrich, en av pionjärerna för "moderna smycken". Efter examen bosatte hon sig i Antwerpen och startade sin egen ateljé med sin dåvarande man, Emile Henry. Sedan dess har deras två döttrar anslutit sig till verksamheten, vilket säkerställer varumärkenas överlevnad in i nästa generation. Wim Meeussen är känd för sin distinkta samling av smycken och vigselringar. Bredvid hans flaggskeppsbutik hittar du en andra plats tillägnad silversmycken, vilket gör hans signaturstil tillgänglig för alla plånböcker. Hanne Schoofs letar regelbundet efter nya tekniker för att få liv i hennes design, och ser till att kollektionen ständigt utvecklas. Designer Eva Crauwels har arbetat som oberoende guldsmed i över 15 år. Kollektionen känns retroromantisk och har en väldigt feminin touch.

Did not realize it was a holiday when I booked the tour. I went to the meeting point and a guide showed up equally confused. Everything was closed so the tour didn't happen. They charged my card and I'm still waiting for a refund.

Our tour guide was a local who gave us great detail about the history of the diamond and gold/silver craft and business. She also gave us insight into the city of Antwerp. We actually were able to meet two jewelers, one who was featured in the DIVA Museum.
Margaret was a great guide - knowledgeable and patient, tailoring her time to the things about which we were most excited. We were disappointed we went on the day DIVA was closed, but we loved everything else! Our visit to Pascale Masselis was interesting and fun. I would definitely not recommend if there is any chance something could happen and you could not make it. We tried to cancel per the instructions and it would not go through. We texted the number that we had received confirmations from more than 24 hours in advance and even called to no avail. A lady finally called us back and she hadn’t gotten our message because she was out of town at a wedding. No it’s my problem and she doesn’t want to refund our money. Not right!!
I’m afraid refunds are only available if you cancel through the booking service you booked through in time, in this case tripadvisor / viator. I was in contact with tripadvisor to ask if you asked for a cancellation / alteration to see how this could be resolved but they haven’t received any request from you. I try to be very easy in our cancellation policy, but in this case, there is just no way. You booked a tour, the guide was there and all means available to cancel the tour correctly. Even just a message on the platform would have been enough to trigger a response. Lauren
Our guide, Vivien, was just delightful. It was a terrific introduction to the diamond business in Antwerp, including the information that much of the cutting is not longer done in Antwerp because it is cheaper elsewhere. Also the nature of the competition from Russian and other countries. The visits to the workshops were also interesting but the best part was the impromptu addition of a tour of the Antwerp cathedral, which is not to be missed. Highly recommend.
