This was a wonderful tour captured most of the significant places in Transylvania. Our very knowledgeable tour guide, Bogdan, provided detailed information about every stop which allowed us to appreciate the experience. The only fees we had to pay were for admission to Pelles Castle and the Brown Bear Sanctuary. The three nights lodging in Brasov were at a B&B within a short walk of the town center.
Our 4 day private tour around Transylvania with Bogdan of Transylvania Discovery Tours was excellent. These 4 days in Romania were the highlight of our Eastern European trip. The planning was well done and Bogdan was flexible for changes we wanted. Bogdan was very pleasant to talk with and he answered all our questions with excellent English. He gave just the right amount of information: enough to be interesting and not too much that we nodded off. (Although much of the info is available from Wikipedia, it is still more fun to hear it from a guide.) He knew all the tricks for where to park and how to skip the line. Most importantly, he is an excellent driver. I am usually a nervous passenger but was not with him, even though we were in the car many hours as distances are longer than you might expect. He never seemed tired even though the days were sometimes long. The experience provided excellent value considering the amount of places we saw. I would definitely recommend Bogdan as a guide.
I'm not sure which tour I did, but went to Brasov, Bran castle, peles castle, bierten, sibiu, corvin castle, sghisoara, viscri and one other place that has slipped my mind and it was excellent. Really enjoyed the fortified churches and castles and learning about the history tha many this familiar. Bogdan was excellent at sharing his knowledge and country. I went in mid March. I suspect had I gone a few weeks later, the trees might have had leaves. But I also think there might be more tourists. So I think it was a good time yo go.
