Vinnare av flera utmärkelser genom åren (dubbel vinnare av Årets unika upplevelse av Luxury Travel Guide, Vinnare av Boutique Touroperator of the Year av Luxury Travel Guide och Travel & Hospitality Award Winner of Excellence in Service, för att nämna några), kan våra gäster vara säkra på att de kommer att vara i goda händer hos vår Rancho Baaxal-familj. Lisa and Sydney were very kind, and the horses are beautiful and well cared for. However, the ride was quite disappointing for us as experienced riders. We spent over two and a half hours riding only at a walking pace, which felt very long and lacked engagement. This experience may suit beginners or those looking for a very relaxed ride, but we would not recommend it for experienced riders expecting a more dynamic horseback experience.
Dear Nuno (and Boris), Thank you for your review. Sydney and I both truly enjoyed meeting you, and riding with you guys. The day that you visited it was pouring, and the trails were very, very slippery, which made it impossible to do anything faster than a walk. Taking the weather conditions into account and considering that only one of you was very experienced, it would have been very irresponsible on our part to try to trot and/or canter on the slippery trails in the pouring rain. I am very sorry to hear that you did not find your experience and personalized adventure (including a cenote we very rarely take any guest to) worth more than 2 stars, since we had such a good time with you guys. I wish both of you all the best ♥️
From U.SA. Alabama. The two tour guides were excellent. It was a bit wet so the branches were hanging low. Watch out for the brier bushes on trail there were a lot of them, so my shirt and husband shirt had snags and small holes. They put a hurting on me. Don’t wear good clothes blue jeans no shorts, long sleeve shirt preferably thick material, boots would be best because of the trees and brier bushes, thick vines also that can wrap around your foot. Bring your camera and they will take photos for you. Owner was very nice. I would book again! Please leave a tip to help them rescue more horses. They really have worked hard with training these horses. Enjoy your ride.
Do don’t expect posh and pristine, expect real from an owner who loves her horses and does all she can to feed and care for them. Today I met Lisa and Angie and went on a solo hack through the jungle with Angie whilst Lisa worked non stop to feed and care for her horses back at the ranch. Being an owner of 3 horses myself I know the time dedication and money it takes to give them the best care possible. It was lovely to hack out and chat and learn a bit of folk law along the way. Thank you so much ladies loved meeting the hounds too who were are lovely xxx the horses where perfectly behaved xxxx. I also met a special face on my walk back to the road
This was by far the best activity of my trip to Cancun. My guide, an Indian speaking impeccable English in my case, told me about the local history, plants, legends, wildlife, while inserting safety precautions and tips for being a better rider. Everything he said was tinged with a certain sensitivity and that added to the visit. Our route was in the forest, on horseback trails, on old paths and through ruins. It is a center where all horses come from other ranches where they have been mistreated and/or poorly fed. They accept groups of one to six people no more. I know it's possible to make special requests, like stopping at a waterfall, having a picnic or a marriage proposal. Ask in advance and you will see. If you want something that isn't the ordinary sausage maker for tourists, you won't be disappointed. They will ask you your weight. This is to calibrate the riders with the weight of the horses so as not to exhaust them. In photo, their biggest horse. They do not offer transportation to the site, but they can recommend taxi services that are reliable.
This was a life-changing experience. Lisa and Tim put all three of us at ease. I have had several riding experiences but have never felt as comfortable as I did today. Upon arrival you meander through the dirt path and when you step out of your vehicle (we took a taxi) several beautiful, gentle, and loving dogs await you. We sat, had coffee and water while the team prepared the horses. The dogs came for snuggles and then we were off. Tim started us off with very clear direction, perfect for us and my 8-year old. My horse, Brandy, was solid, stoic, and made me feel right at ease. Through the ride we learned about the land, folklore, and history of the ranch. The ride was the perfect length for us novices and we all felt so much more confident after. If you're in the area, we highly recommend this Ranch for your ride! We can't wait to return someday.
Jade and Chino were our guides, and even though we arrived early, they welcomed us with a smile and hot coffee. The ride was simply incredible, and it is apparent these folks are proud and passionate about what they do. Great day we will remember for the rest of our lives!
SUCH an amazing and fun time. the ride was absolutely beautiful and tim was a pleasure to ride with. he was a great conversationalist and natural guide - i learned a ton of history and got philosophical while riding through the beautiful greenery on a well tempered, cute horse. the dogs were adorable as well. my parents hung out with them while i rode, and enjoyed doling out the scratches. the cherry on top is the obvious love and care the staff has for their horses. it’s clear that everyone’s needs are beyond met. well cared for horses are responsive and easy to ride, and that is obviously the case here. i could rave on and on. this is truly such a great choice to see some lovely wildlife, learn some lovely history, and meet some lovely folk.
My family and I had an amazing time with the wonderful staff of Rancho Baaxal! The owner and her staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, engaging, professional, and were passionate about the safety and care of both the guests and the horses. It is so refreshing to see them take such great care for their horses. Their knowledge of the jungle, Mayan history, and ensuring every guest had the most positive experience, was greatly appreciated. Our guide Thimmiah was outstanding. It was as if he was meant for this role! He was amazing with our 9 year old and not only was he a great guide, he was a phenomenal history teacher! We couldn’t have been more impressed or pleased with Lisa and her absolutely amazing team!!! We will be back - We love you guys!!!
It was great that they were rescue horses and that they really care for their animals. We're happy to support them. Tim had a lot of interesting facts and conversation. The refreshments break was really nicely done with beautiful fruit, drinks, etc.
Such a special experience! My husband and I are both animal lovers, and this ranch was brimming with sweet pups, well-cared for rescue horses, and awesome people. Our jungle trail ride was fantastic, each of us paired with a horse based on our riding experience and equestrian skills. I rode the spirited Junior, and my husband rode Chiquilín, their “gentle giant.” Our ride was expertly guided - we learned so much about the jungle, local geology, and even Mayan folklore. Upon the return to the ranch, we were invited to relax and enjoy drinks and snacks, accompanied by birdsong. It was a perfect day!
