Albert was excellent. We felt safe with him driving, and he managed construction and traffic backups very well. His knowledgeable explanations of the sites we visited, their history, changing ownership, various architectural styles, monuments, etc really brought them to life. His lunch recommendation was also excellent. We're very glad we selected Sidetrip and had Albert as our driver/guide.
We were three travellers seeking an interesting and sophisticated experience whilst getting between cities. Levy made the trip exceed any expectations by offering options that fitted our interests and topped it off with his excellent company. If all your guides are of this calibre, your company’s service beats all others. Flexibility in the itinerary was key and we saw things we would never have found ourselves.
Our family of fou, two adults and our two twenty-something daughters, had an absolutely wonderful experience with Klara! From the very beginning, she was punctual, welcoming, and incredibly professional. She was also an impressive driver, and I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout the entire journey in her van. There were just two other guests on our tour, which made the experience feel wonderfully personal and relaxed. We all had such a fantastic time with Klara that by the end of the day, we felt like we had made new friends. In fact, we enjoyed the company of the other couple so much that we ended up booking a Danube evening river cruise together! Klara was an exceptional guide. Knowledgeable, engaging, charming, and genuinely attentive to everyone in the group. She shared fascinating information about the history and origins of Lednice Castle and Bratislava, bringing both the places and their stories to life. Her enthusiasm and knowledge made the tour much more than simply sightseeing; it was an engaging and enjoyable experience from start to finish. We also really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the two additional quick bathroom stops along the highway. It made a big difference and showed how attentive Klara was to the comfort of her guests. This tour exceeded our expectations in every way. Klara created such a fun, welcoming atmosphere, and her combination of knowledge, professionalism, warmth, and excellent driving made the day truly special. Saw a great deal of Slovakia with several interesting stops along the way to Budapest It was delightful to spend the day with Klara who was knowledgeable and pleasant.
Pavel was a friendly and excellent driver. He took us to all the right places, and the vehicle was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We had a great experience and would gladly recommend him.
This is a perfect way to travel between cities that are relatively close. Klara was an amazing guide. She was friendly, prompt, courteous and very informative during our tour. The van was very comfortable for our family. It was great being picked up at our first hotel and dropped off at the next. We did not have to go through the hassle of the airport and finding Ubers. Bonus never having to worry about lost luggage. Our stops were very enjoyable. I would definitely use the service again if travelling between cities they offer in Europe.
Our group of four needed transport from Budapest to Prague after a Danube River cruise and we were fortunate to discover Sidetrip Tours as an alternative to the plane, train or bus options. The pickup location was a short walk from our hotel and our driver, Csenge, was a gem. She skillfully drove us in comfort through the amazing landscapes of three countries (all those sunflowers and windmills!) with cultural and historical commentary. Her tours at the three stops were well paced and entertaining and she recommended some of her favorite dishes for lunch at a local restaurant. This experience was so much more than just a ride from point A to point B. Also, booking, payment and communication throughout the process was easy. Thank you Csenge and Sidetrip Tours!
If I didn’t have as many bags as we did, I would have selected to take the train. Pickup: It was disappointing that I had to chase and raise the fact the pickup may not be able to be done at the hotel as it was a residential restricted area, and then I had to workout where they should pic us up and cart our bags there. Trip: For a 9 -10hr trip you need to be comfortable… and the seating in the row behind the drive had poor leg room. Driver: He was nice, but surprised he was dressed ultra casual.Stops during trip: It was nice and gave chance to stretch legs , have a bite to eat and have do some touristing with driver.
So glad we decided to book a sidetrip tour from Budapest to Prague instead of taking the train. Our driver, Akos, was terrific. Very communicative, gave us lots of information. He took us to a great spot for morning coffee, and managed to find a lovely spot in the shade for lunch on what was an extremely hot day. He made a long journey much more enjoyable. Being picked up and dropped off at the door of our hotel was very much appreciated, I'm so over negotiating public transport with a heavy suitcase. Best decision of our trip :)
