This tour was by far the best one we had in Italy. Our private driver, Diego, picked us up promptly at our hotel and provided his personal insight on Napoli and various sites along the way. We then met up with our tour guide, Mario, I. Pompeii. Mario provided us with an excellent tour catered specifically to the whims of our family. We also did the Herculaneum tour after lunch with Mario and that was a nice touch to conclude the history of this area. I highly recommend Diego and Mario. This two men go above and beyond.
We had 2hrs in Pompeii with Mario, who was an excellent guide and fountain of knowledge. Made sure to keep us in the shade as much as possible and provided an interesting and engaging experience. Answered a myriad of questions we all had. Nice transport in air conditioned van with water provided.
Our tour guide was excellent. Experienced and knowledgeable about Pompeii, and a lifelong resident of Naples.
We recently completed a full day private tour of both Pompeii (AM) and Herculaneum (PM). Our guide, Mario was fantastic! He brought a deep academic knowledge and passion to the tour and really painted a vivid picture throughout our journey covering each incredible site. On a tour of six, ages 10-70+, Mario kept everyone captivated by his recounting and storytelling of the rich history and profound events surrounding each location. The whole day, the whole experience was wonderful, I can’t say enough good things. Do yourself a favor and make sure you give Mario a call before you head to any of these locations, you will not be disappointed!

Mario was GREAT. Our 12 and 13 year olds are obsessed with Percy Jackson and all things Greek and Roman mythology. Mario leaned into it and didn’t flinch when our daughter asked about 1,000 questions (only some related to Pompei ) Pickup was easy, Fabio was easy to find, kind, talked baking with me and even showed some pictures of his homemade pasta as inspiration for my new hobby. 100% would book with them again and hope to see them again in the future.

Eugenio Gentile was our driver and he was great! Super knowledgeable and friendly throughout the day. We actually did the mount Vesuvius and Pompeii combined day (wasn’t an option when selecting), and this was super fun! He also saved us from potential disaster: we were getting picked up/dropped off from Sorrento, and there were protests blocking the roads, that Eugenio learned about the day before. When discovering this, Eugenio contacted his boss to get us boat tickets from Sorrento to a dock in Naples. This boat ride was only 45 minutes to save us from ~3h of traffic. This proactive problem solving separates good from great business. I understand that this service is expensive, but they deal with all the tickets, guides, driving, and most importantly issues that you might run into. This potentially horrific situation ended in an amazing day and no stress when touring around. Also, I should mention that we were picked up by Giovanni from the airport without issue! He was super nice as well, and was very pleasant when we were tired and on edge from traveling for the last ~15hrs. He even had waters in the van!! Overall, I couldn’t recommend Eugenio, Giovanni, and this company highly enough.

We needed to get from Napoli to Positano and rather than struggle with bags and buses, we contacted Private Driver Naples. Mario was fantastic and tailored a full day tour on the way including a private tour of Pompeii, local wine tasting and lunch. Our driver, Giovanni, was careful and courteous and full of passion for his region and his job. Giovanna was our guide in Pompeii. Full of information, so lovely and patient she really brought everything to life! We booked this tour for the morning of our cruise stop in Napoli. We were lucky enough to have Mario as our guide and driver, pulling double-duty. The van was brand new and very nice. Mario was gracious in waiting when our ship arrival was later than initially planned and went over the top to communicate about where to find him when we got out of the terminal. The communication was top notch and much appreciated. Beyond that, he was extremely knowledgeable, but also very easy to follow. It was chock full of information, but never overly academic. Mario is passionate about the subject and it shows. Pompeii is much larger than we realized, so it would have been overwhelming without an expert to guide us. If we ever make it back to Napoli, we will be sure to use Mario for another tour.
