Denna heldagstur i världsarven Pompeji och Herculaneum börjar med en upphämtning i Neapel och en buss till ruinerna av Pompeji. Det kommer att finnas en reseassistent på bussen under denna del av utflykten. När du anländer till Pompeji kommer du att utforska ruinerna i cirka 2 timmar. Upptäck traditionerna och det dagliga livet för gamla Pompeji invånare. Du kommer att se den stora teatern, nekropolen, termalbaden och några av de fantastiska hus som ägdes av de rikaste invånarna. Njut av en inkluderad lätt lunch på en lokal restaurang. Efter lunch kan du bege dig till Herculaneum där du får chansen att utforska ruinerna på egen hand. Det är möjligt att observera befolkningens dagliga liv här ännu mer detaljerat än i Pompeji, eftersom leran och vulkanskräpet som täckte staden bevarade Herculaneums strukturer och artefakter.

Efter den sista hämtningen kör vi från Neapels centrum till Pompejis arkeologiska park
Vid tiden för det dramatiska utbrottet hade Pompeji cirka 11 000 invånare, medan Herculaneum hade en befolkning på cirka 5 000 människor. Ett antal kejsare och aristokrater hade sina semestervillor i dessa städer. En dag, år 79 e.Kr., begravde flera meter aska hela området på några timmar. Århundraden senare, 1748, under Bourbons regering, startade utgrävningsarbeten. Upptäckten hälsades med entusiasm eftersom den tillförde stor rikedom till kungariket och inspirerade nyklassicismens rörelse i Europa. Nuförtiden är ruinerna av Pompeji bland de mest besökta arkeologiska platserna i världen, medan Herculaneum är förnyat för sin Villa dei Papiri som innehåller ett bibliotek med över 1800 papyrus. Besök av utgrävningarna (ca 2 timmar) och om tiden tillåter även av en korall- och kameofabrik för att beundra produktionsförfarandet som utförs av experthantverkare

Efter besöket i Herculaneum återvänder vi till Neapel på samma plats som på morgonen.

The tour was great. The pickup and transfers with Giuseppe are very well organized and air-conditioned, which is super necessary due to the heat in Naples. Giuseppe takes care of managing tickets, guides, and audio guides. The guide for Pompeii, Patricia, is highly recommended, with deep knowledge of the archaeological park, and the same goes for the guide for Herculaneum, María. The only drawback is that the visit to Pompeii is about two hours, so there is not enough time to visit the entire complex.

This day was a good experience that we could recommend to you. The visit to Pompeii with our French-speaking guide was great (group of approx. 25 people), although 2 hours only allows you to visit a small part of the city, the locations were well chosen. Despite the lack of a French-speaking guide on-site at Herculaneum, our organizer guide Christianno was top-notch and did his best to find the solution that would suit us best! The only downside of the day: the meal. At the restaurant only 3 dish choices (margherita, schnitzel and frozen fries or pasta with tomato sauce) no choice for the appetizer or dessert, it's salad and vanilla ice cream. Few choices but it does the trick for a snack.

The tour was too slow. First of all, they changed our time. Later we understood why. From one group in English and other in Spanish, they made just one. The explanations from guides were too slow, and they repeated all twice, in Spanish and in English. This is a torture under this sun and heat. It was a moment I decided to go by myself and it was the best idea. Maria, the old lady in Ercolano, missed many points. My family stayed with her and they missed the best parts. I could see more things because I did it by myself. Also, it was a french family that had nothing in french. I had to help them with the translation. At the end they went also by theirselves. A shame. I will not recommend at all this tour.
