Tillsammans med "Siciliano-familjen" kommer du att lära dig att använda färska och lokala ingredienser, som förhöjer smaken av varje rätt, och som gör Italien och Sicilien kända över hela världen. Med kocken Mimmo lär du dig konsten att laga pizza och den typiska "Bruschetta" med lokala produkter: Pachino-tomater, basilika, oregano och olivolja. Med den sicilianska fadern, en stor lokal konditor, kommer du att skapa den berömda Cannoli, lära dig hemligheterna för att förbereda rånet och grädden som gör Cannolo till den mest kända sicilianska desserten i världen. Du kommer också att lära dig hur man gör "Änglavingar", typiska sötsaker som på sicilianska kallas "Chiacchiere", och som är populära under karnevalen. Great class; quality ingredients. Both the Pizza and Canoli tasted great. Restaurant was in Naxos - nice to see another town.
Mama was the star of the show!! Both of our hosts were amazing and helpful. It was really a fun experience for all ages
The Family that hosted this class was amazing. Step by step instructions and also sent you the recipes at the conclusion of the class. Fun time. Would recommend
This was an excellent lesson and dinner. We were picked up just outside the city gate in Taormina and taken to the seaside restaurant where the lessons take place. We were given water and some nice table wine (or other beverage of your choice) and some snacks to start. The pizza we made was amazing dlicious. Chef Mimmo and Mama were the best. We went home with enough leftovers for the whole next day.
Mimmo and his family and team are legends. His Dad is the driver, his Mom the pastry chef and he as the pizzaolo and MC is great. So helpful and interesting and they make the pizza and cannoli making easy and fun.
We really enjoyed this experience. We met in the square in Taormina and then were taken by van to the restaurant that was beautiful and right in the oceanfront. It was family owned and Chef Mimmo, his mother, and son were all involved in our class. The ingredients were fresh and everything was well organized. We made cannolos and fantastic Sicilian pizza. Chef Mimmo explained to us the proper techniques and our meal turned our wonderfully! A great last evening in Italy.
The experience was wonderful From start to finish the transportation, the cooking class, the humor, the camaraderie all of it.
Our group/ family of 6 really enjoyed this experience. The meeting point was just a 1-2 min walk out of the 7th floor Parking garage of Parcheggio Porta Catania, in front of an old church before you walk into the historic center of Tarimino through an archway. It was about a 10-15 van ride to a family run restaurant. Our group felt like we were guests in their home. We learned a little history and on Italian cooking. It by far exceeded our expectations. There was a lot of hands on activity, from rolling the Cannolo dough, frying the Cannolo dough, shaping the pizza dough, topping the pizza, and even cooking the pizza in the restaurant's pizza oven. They were extremely helpful for anyone that was having difficulties. We were so full when we left. They even provided a container for anyone who didn't finish so that it could be taken with them. We often make pizzas at home in a small oven, and we still learned some helpful techniques. They were also very diligent to make sure the food each person prepared, was the food they got and ate. There was also wine and water available at the table. We highly recommend this experience.
Fun evening! Papa was our driver to and from the restaurant.. Family-run restaurant. Mamma was very helpful. Chef Mimmo explained things thoroughly and provided history behind pizza and cannoli.
We had an amazing time at this Pizza and Cannoli-making experience in Taormina! The location by the sea was beautiful and made the evening even more special. (The restaurant was actually in Giardini Naxos -- just a very short drive from Taormina -- with transportation from our hotel included.) Chef Mimmo and “Mamma” were awesome instructors, and the entire staff of extended family and friends made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Everyone was engaging, fun, and clearly passionate about what they do. There was much laughter throughout the evening, and they created such a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Transportation was very easy and convenient, with on-time pick-up exactly as arranged and a smooth drop-off after the class. Chef Mimmo and Mamma shared with us their masterful cooking techniques. The food was delicious! The pizza dough/crust was flavorful with the perfect texture, and there were plenty of fresh toppings available. The cannolo were excellent as well with perfectly crispy shells and delicious filling. They were very accommodating to our requests and made sure everyone in our group had a fantastic experience. We highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Taormina looking for a fun, authentic, and memorable evening with a delicious meal!
