Piran är en av de äldsta och vackraste slovenska städerna med rik historia och kultur. Nästan 500 års varande venetianskt inflytande har gett denna stad en otrolig charm. Dess kulturarv är inte bara hemma i museer eftersom arkitektoniska och konstnärliga pärlor, som dekorerar vardagslivet hos lokalbefolkningen, finns i alla hörn. Giuseppe Tartini, den världsberömda kompositören och violinisten, som föddes och uppvuxen i Piran, hade stor inverkan på staden. Idag smyckar hans bronsstaty stadens huvudtorg tillsammans med Tartini hus där besökare kan beundra en av hans fioler. Tartini-torget är omgivet av majestätiska byggnader, såsom det rikligt inredda kommunala palatset, Tartini-teatern, sjöfartsmuseet, akvariet, marina biologiska stationen, barockhuset och Apollonio-palatset. På kullen ovanför är staden den största och viktigaste kyrkan, kyrkan Saint George, som erbjuder en underbar utsikt. Pirans stadsmur, smala gator, fiskarnät, kompakta hus som går uppför sluttningen och det vackra havet kommer att ge dig en känsla av att gå genom en målning. På denna panoramautsikt längs den slovenska kusten kommer du också att besöka kuststäderna Portorož, Izola och Koper, där en turistguide kommer att berätta om de viktigaste sevärdheterna, historiska fakta och lokal tradition.
Portorož, som bokstavligen betyder "Port of Roses", är ett populärt turistmål med hotell, kasinon och vackra stränder. I närheten finns Sečovljes naturliga saltpannor där salter extraheras från rent havsvatten med intressanta traditionella metoder.
I slutet kommer vi att besöka Izola, som är känd för sin fiskehistoria.

Excellent tour, Stefan was extremely informative and a good driver. The tour round Piran in particular is worth the money, and the lunch and wine tsating was another highlight. No problem getting back to the cruise ship in time...
Very nice trip along the coast, very knowledgeable driver/guide, plenty of time in Piran to see the sites and sample the wine/cuisine. Beautiful day!
Small and charming Slovenian port, where there are many Venetian traces. Too bad that many beautiful houses are not yet renovated.... In the off season, few shops (1 grocery store at the end of the day), and, fortunately, some restaurants open.
Our group of eight was met by our guide Dean right outside the cruise terminal. We were quickly underway in a very comfortable van. Dean pointed out some of the sights in Trieste as we made out way out of the city and on the road to Piran. We made stops along the way to admire the view of the ocean from turnouts high above the sea. Once in the lovely city of Piran (almost like a small Venice) Dean dropped us in the city square while he parked the van. That gave us an opportunity to get a coffee and people watch in the square. Once Dean rejoined us, he led us on a tour of the city, taking us high up the narrow walkway to the church where we were rewarded with breathtaking views. The walkways are quite narrow and quaint with cobblestones and centuries old buildings. Dean was a wonderful guide, full of interesting information. It was clear that he loved his job and his country. We had a wonderful 5 star experience!
Slovenia is a special place with special people. Allow this country to wrap its arms around you. Piran is a can't miss experience.
It’s a tour by van along the coast with stops at scenic spots along the way. And historical information along the way. A nice tour and a nice/ informative guide! We enjoyed it!
