Alberto Aveleyra, etnohistoriker vid National School of Anthropology är kurator för den arkeologiska utställningen vid San Miguels historiska museum (huset Allende). Alberto är en publicerad författare och en av de främsta forskarna på webbplatsen. Gå med mig genom denna inhemska helgedom som grundades på VI-talet e.Kr. Medan vi går genom detta vackra naturlandskap, lär vi oss om de 30 århundraden gamla förspansktalande infödda civilisationerna, deras riter, kulten till förfäderna, de arkeologiska utgrävningarna på platsen och den forskning jag gör där. Min forskning handlar om de prehispaniska rutter som användes av de gamla pilgrimerna och de kulturella betydelserna av processionerna som utfördes där. DNA-forskningen avslöjar att denna arkeologiska plats var en multietnisk fristad, det var målet för pilgrimer som kom från olika delar av Mexiko under en period av 500 år mellan VI och XI-talet av vår tid.

Our experience with our guide, Alberto coffee, was wonderful. He is a knowledgeable archaeologist who is actively researching the Cañada de la Virgen temple ruins. He has a great personality, he is very enthusiastic about his work and that enthusiasm is contagious. He speaks excellent English and his voice carries well, even for the heart of hearing. My wife and I both recommend this tour without hesitation.

Alberto is an excellent guide. He is not a regular guide, he has a graduate degree in archeology and he is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the pyramids, their history and the past and present research. I highly recommend Alberto as a guide. Also, the money you pay goes for the future research, as Alberto works for the Museum of San Miguel de Allende! (:-o)

You will leave this tour with a new appreciation for the precolonial mystical outlook on the universe and the sacred by taking this pilgrimage. Its a priveledge to learn from someone who has devoted his life to studying this place. Not only that, Albertos tour will make you laugh while you learn!
Expert guide with more information than you can absorb! Be sure that you are capable of walking uphill in thin air.
I paid to go on this visit but they wouldn't answer my 5 messages or 3 phone calls asking the pick up time. Trip Advisor also did not respond to me. I finally got someone at Viator who told me the time is sent out a few hours before the pick up time. A few minutes after my call I received a message to say the trip was cancelled. The next day I received a message to say there were still places available for the trip which had cancelled me. Was it because I am a solo traveller or because I complained about the lack of response. No doubt they will have some unknown reason once they read this!
