Petchaburis historiska palats och antika tempel - Privat rundtur från Hua Hin

Phetchaburi är en av Thailands äldsta städer och är känd för att det mest kända palatset är King Rama 5's Summer Palace på Khao Wang Hill som hela tomten består av kungliga salar, palats, tempel och andra byggnader som är elegant byggda i en balanserad thailändsk, nyklassisk västerländsk och kinesisk arkitektonisk stil. De gamla palatsen omvandlades till museer som visade kungliga bekvämligheter som användes av kung Rama IV och kung Rama V. Wat Mahat-templet är en blandning av sena Ayutthaya och tidiga Rattanakosin-stilar med en anpassning av det gamla Khmer-klostret. Khao Luang Cave Temple byggdes under kung Chulalongkorns regeringstid och har ett hål genom vilket solljus kommer och skimrar på stenar, vilket gör grottan färgstark och låter besökare se all skönhet inuti grottan.

Khao Wang eller Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park är en anmärkningsvärd turistplats i Petchaburi-provinsen; det är symbolen för provinsen. Khao Wang är mycket enastående och uppenbarligen ses på långt håll, inklusive den vita chedi och byggnader. Khao Wang är de antika lämningarna av Petchaburi-provinsen som ligger på det 92 meter höga berget. Vi tar linbanan för att gå på toppen av berget.
Centralt beläget, glänsande vita Wat Mahathat är ett imponerande tempel. Utställningsexemplet är en 42 meter hög femvånings prang i Ayuthaya-stil (majskolvformad stupa) dekorerad i stuckaturrelief, en specialitet från Phetchaburis lokala hantverkare som du kommer att se över hela staden. Inne i wí·hăhn (fristad) som frontar det finns viktiga, men mycket skadade, väggmålningar från tidigt 1900-tal.
Cirka 4 km norr om staden ligger Khao Luang-grottan, en dramatisk stalaktitfylld grotta som är en av Thailands mest imponerande grotthelgedomar och en favorit hos kung Rama IV när han var munk. Den nås via branta trappor, och den är upplyst av ett himmelskt sken varje morgon (om molnen tillåter) när solstrålarna filtrerar in genom det naturliga takfönstret.

Very comfortable and enjoyable trip. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful.
B was super friendly and knowledgeable about Thailands history. We really enjoy the whole time we were with him. We learned so much about the Royal Family. We learned a lot about Buddisim here in Thailand, it was amazing the depth of knowledge and the teaching and structure of how Buddism fits into the everyday lives of Thai people.
Great excursion! We viewed temples, caves and had a wonderful lunch at an authentic Thai restaurant. Lou, our guide was very pleasant and informative about the areas we visited and Thailand in general.
The itinerary is good, the palace in particular is spectacular! There are many steps, some narrow and steep but as an unfit 60 something I made it! Have given 3 stars as we weren’t given much information during the day on where we were going and when. Prompt and early pick up by a friendly driver who did not speak English so we had to guess (rightly) we were on the right trip and we’d see our guide at some point. Our guide was pleasant and took us to the ‘sights’ but did not have much to say en route other than chatting to the driver. We would have appreciated a nod to what the story was. Very accommodating about when we wanted to lunch, but the restaurant suggested by the guide was no longer there so a bit of a lottery to find a substitute. I’d hoped he’d have checked that out! We did have a nice lunch in a small side/street but struggled with the menu as it was in Thai and our guide could have been a little more helpful about that, but I guess he was also a bit on the back foot! All in all I think it seemed less than expected as on an earlier tour to Maeklong our Ken Diamond driver:guide was exceptional and pointed out so much about the countryside, Thai life and the sights ( so big shout out to him and ask for him if you can - his name was ‘B’!) The sights on this 6 hour day (about an hour’s drive from Hua Hin) are great so don't let this put you off unduly! Driver very skilled moving the car in and out of some tight places, so thanks to him - and the guide - but if we had been new to ‘trips’ and the Thai genuine attitude might have been a bit disconcerting! Also make sure you take water as we were not offered any - but plenty of options to buy at various points, so that’s a small niggle.
We were just my wife and I on this trip. Unfortunately, my wife got bad from the heat when we arrived, so we asked to be driven back to the hotel. Our guide was some of the sweetest and helpful one can imagine, so even though we did not get so much out of the trip itself, we will still give our best recommendations.
The trip with Num, our fantastic and friendly guide, was filled with great information and spots to visit. The lunch was great and we recommend this trip to all culturally enthusiastic people :-)
We visited Petchaburi's Historic Palaces and Ancient Temples. This was an amazing tour and we had the good fortune to have Bobby “B” as our tour guide. This was our second time having B as our tour guide. He was again friendly and accommodating imparting great knowledge and taking many photos. The SUMMER PALACE and KHAO LUANG CAVE are can’t miss. We highly recommend this tour.

A wonderfully fascinating tour, with an informative and friendly guide and a polite and safe driver. We particularly liked the fact it was a private tour so we were able to go at our own pace and had plenty of time to ask our guide, Naree, lots of questions about the particular areas of interest to us. Highly recommended! 😊
