Perugia är en stad full av charm och historia. Mötesplatsen kommer att vara på Piazza Italia, därifrån går vi först och utforskar de olika skikten av Rocca Paolina – den så kallade "Perugia underground". Väl tillbaka till stadens centrum kommer det att bli ett stopp vid ett känt gammaldags men mycket traditionellt kafé för en espresso eller en cappuccino toppad med handvispad grädde. Turen kommer att fokusera på Fontana Maggiore tillsammans med de andra byggnaderna som står på torget.
Rocca Paolina eller Paolina Fortress ligger precis i Perugias historiska centrum och man kan komma in via en dörr på Porta Marzia eller rulltrappan som förbinder Piazza Italia med Piazza Partigiani.
Porta Marzia finns insatt som en blind båge i murverket av rocca Paolina, majestätiska arkitekturverk cinquecentesca utsträckt på det stora kvarteret Colle Landone, södra relief på vilken stiger Perugia.
Övre marmorbassängen har tolv sidor uppdelade i tjugofyra släta paneler av rosa Assisi sten. Var och en separeras med lika många vita Carrara-marmorstatyer som är placerade på ledningar mellan panelerna. Några av figurerna representerar personer från stadens historia och legender, medan andra är symboliska.
Katedralen i St. Lawrence ligger i Perugias historiska stadskärna på Piazza IV Novembre, dess sydliga fasad mot torget.
Den etruskiska bågen eller Augustus är en av de sju dörrarna till de etruskiska murarna i Perugia. Den byggdes under andra hälften av III-talet e.Kr. och gjordes för att omstrukturera från Augusto år 40 e.Kr. efter dess seger i kriget i Perugia.

Werner was an excellent guide. He was so knowledgeable about the many layers of history of Perugia. And since we visited during intense heat, he knew short cuts so that we could be in the shade as much as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this tour
