Förutom att gräva i den rika historiska betydelsen av det judiska distriktet, utmärker sig våra turer för sin betoning på att avslöja dolda symboler och mindre kända berättelser, vilket ger en omfattande förståelse utöver typiska turistupplevelser. Detta är en grupptur och kräver minst 4 deltagare för att fungera. Om minimiantalet inte uppnås får du full återbetalning. Vi möter och hälsar dig på Elizabeth Square (Erzsébet tér på ungerska) där vår fulla licensierade lokala reseguide väntar på våra resenärer. Vi skissar på resplanen och de stora sevärdheterna längs vägen, inklusive den största synagogan i Europa och berättar om judarna i Ungern. Vi kommer att fokusera på från Belle Epoque eller guldåldern till förstörelsen.
Här talar vi om "Gaudiopolis" glädjens stad på latin och Schutzpass som räddade tusentals judiska liv. Vi visar dig också de före detta medeltida stadsmurruinerna som uteslöt judarna från att handla inom stadsgränserna.
Du kommer att lära dig allt du behöver veta om den största synagogan i Europa, de neologer och ortodoxa rörelserna, sionismen. Turnén går inte in i synagogan men du kommer att se Memorial Courtyard och kyrkogården utifrån.
Du kommer att lära dig om den vackert restaurerade Rumbach Street Synagogue och de vackra väggmålningarna och andra bitar av urban gatukonst. Vi går inte in i synagogan.
Vi passerar Gozsdu-passagen och lär oss om dess förflutna och nutid. Denna passage kombinerar underhållning, gastronomi och kultur, marknad och mycket mer. Du kommer också att se den sista biten av gettoväggen.
Vi stannar strax utanför Kazinczy-gatan Synagouge, som tillhör det ortodoxa samhället med 50-60 familjer. Vi pratar också om koshermaten, judiskt rituellt bad och mycket mer. Vi går inte in i synagogan.
Vi visar dig fler väggmålningar och urban gatukonst och tar dig till Szimpla Ruin Bar där du kan se popup-utställningar och ge dig en slutlig orientering.

We had an excellent and very knowledgeable guide. We so appreciated his compassionate approach to teaching about the segregation of Jewish people and the sorted history. It was me of my favorite hours in Budapest! Highly Recommend!!

This was not a super long tour in terms of walking because we mostly were focused on a small area. The tour guide, Gary, was very nice and knowledgeable. I wish there could have been more exploration on how the wave of antisemitism in Hungary started because that part of the review was kind of quick. He also gave us several recommendations for places to visit.

Our Jewish heritage tour in Budapest was one of the highlights in such a great city. The guide KRISTINA was extremely knowledgeable, providing fascinating insights into the history, culture, and resilience of Budapest’s Jewish community. Visiting the stunning Dohány Street Synagogue, the Jewish Quarter, and a few Holocaust memorial sites gave us a much deeper understanding of the city’s past and present. It does not include the shoes on the river which is a must. Did not include any admissions to the three synagogues. Tour was about 2 Hours. The pace was comfortable, and our guide was happy to answer questions and share personal stories that brought the history to life. We appreciated how the tour balanced historical facts with cultural experiences. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Budapest, whether you have a Jewish background or simply want to learn more about this important part of the city’s history.

Regarding the Shoes on the Danube Memorial: it's actually included in our general sightseeing tour rather than this one, and we'd love to have you join that tour next time to see it. As for synagogue admissions, visiting the Dohány Street Grand Synagogue properly requires at least 70 extra minutes plus an entrance fee of 14,500 HUF per person — adding this would significantly change the length and price of this tour, which is why we keep it as an optional extension rather than building it into the public tour.
