Was just great. Lovely treat. Fabulous views and just a fun thing to do. I would repeat the experience.
We arrived for our Seine River cruise at approximately 5:00 PM on July 13. Upon arrival, the cruise staff informed us that they had stopped operating early due to the Bastille Day fireworks later that evening and would not be honoring our reservation. We were explicitly instructed to contact our point of purchase (Viator) to request a refund. While still standing at the dock, we contacted Viator. The representative placed us on hold to verify the situation with the cruise operator before issuing refund. To our surprise, we were then told that the operator had denied the refund, even though we had literally just been told by the staff at the dock that we should request one. I walked back to the dock to find out what was going on. It turned out the person who had spoken to Viator wasn't even a manager or cruise representative, it was a security guard who had answered the phone. I asked to speak with a supervisor, who then came over and spoke directly with Viator on my phone. The conversation quickly became heated because even the supervisor recognized the confusion surrounding the situation. This cruise had been sold out for weeks. If the operator already knew they would be ending service early for Bastille Day, they should have stopped selling tickets for that departure or proactively contacted customers. Instead, they accepted payment, turned customers away at the dock, and then refused to authorize a refund. She then said she would work towards our refund in the next couple days. To make matters worse, I received an email from Viator the next day while on my flight home stating, "After a thorough review, we're unable to issue a refund because the operator did not approve it." There was nothing "thorough" about the review. They simply accepted the operator's response despite what actually happened at the dock. Viator then apologized that I "couldn't complete my plans," as if this were somehow my fault. My plans weren't ruined because I missed the cruise, they were ruined because the operator failed to honor a ticket they sold, and Viator refused to stand behind the customer they took payment from. This experience was unacceptable from both the cruise operator and Viator. I will never book this cruise again, and more importantly, I will never use Viator again. If something goes wrong, don't expect them to advocate for you. They'll simply defer to the operator and leave you paying for an experience you never received.
This is more of a boat ride on the river than a tour. Definitely take the tour at night. There will be a long line.
Was difficult to see landmarks as the view was continually obstructed by too many people being allowed on the boat, and a lot where standing in the aisles.
Nice activity. Not expensive considering average prices in Paris. Suitable for everyone including kids
This was the most underwhelming Aviator trip I have ever taken. The person giving the commentary was absolutely disinterested in his job and should be fired. I wish they provided some history and background about the buildings or even the names of all the buildings - what a waste of money and time!
The cruise itself was absolutely worth doing. Seeing Paris from the Seine at night (especially the Eiffel Tower sparkling) was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. The route offers wonderful views of the city’s landmarks, and seeing them from the river gives you a completely different perspective of Paris. The boarding experience, however, was mildly frustrating. Despite a quick-moving line, we waited more than an hour to get onto the boat, and once we finally boarded, there wasn’t enough seating for everyone. Our daughters managed to find seats, but my wife and I had to stand for the entire cruise. To be fair, we visited during Bastille Day weekend, so Paris was exceptionally busy and we expected larger-than-normal crowds. Even so, better crowd management and limiting boarding to the boat’s available seating would have made the experience much more comfortable. (Especially since we ended up being the second-to-last cruise of the night at 10:30pm and the final boat was half-filled.) Despite the long wait and lack of seating, the nighttime sights and overall experience were still worth it. I would recommend the cruise, especially around sunset, but anyone visiting during a major holiday weekend should arrive prepared for a significant wait and the possibility of standing.
The cruise was very, very good, a really nice experience with my daughter who really enjoyed this outing
Really good and boat not too crowded! Plenty of space to move around and choice of where to sit. Toilets on board too.
Taking a walk through the Seine is an experience that is well worth it. Seeing Paris from the river provides a completely different perspective of the city’s monuments, bridges and architecture. I chose the panoramic tour of the Bateaux Mouches and I liked the organization very much. The route is pleasant, allows you to admire various sights from another angle and gives beautiful photos and videos. One tip: the best time depends on the time of year. I took the tour in June and, as it was summer, the sun was still high around 5:00 p.m. and it only started to dark around 10:00 p.m. If you want to photograph Paris illuminated, check the time of sunset at the time of your trip. Another very friendly detail is the interaction during the journey: those who are on the other boats, on the bridges or even picnicing on the banks of the Seine usually cheer to the passengers. It is a simple gesture, but that makes the walk even more special. I highly recommend this experience
