Denna lilla grupp kvällsmat tur (max 6 gäster) utforskar livliga lokala stadsdelar med flera sit-down mat stopp, lokala drycker och tid att gå, prata och smälta däremellan. Det här är inte en pubrunda eller en checklista för stressad smakprovning – det är en avslappnad, social kväll som balanserar mat, atmosfär och vardagskulturen i Osaka. Det börjar i Tenma, känd för sina familjeägda matställen och avslappnade lokala scenen. Du får smaka på rätter med rötter i vardagen i Osaka, med en Guide som förklarar stadens matkultur. Utforska denna månghundraåriga stadsdel fylld med butiker och restauranger. Platser och människor både gamla och unga, och ett sortiment av bara allmänt intressanta sevärdheter finns i överflöd. Vi tillbringar ca 45 minuter med att gå runt och prata om några av de mer anmärkningsvärda. Med vår 45 minuter långa kulturella strävan bakom oss är det dags för en drink och lite mat. Beroende på kväll varierar restaurangerna vi går till, men du kan vara säker på att det kommer att finnas en mängd olika rätter att välja mellan. Vi kommer också att förklara sevärdheter och ljud av den typiska "tachinomi", eller stående bar-restaurang. Vi tillbringar ungefär 30 minuter här. Del två av vår Tenma walkabout tar oss djupare in i restauranger och matmarknader. Detta ger en fantastisk chans att se lokalbefolkningen ute och ha en bra tid, eftersom många av restaurangerna är öppna mot gatan. Denna promenad är ca 15 minuter. Vi ser till att det andra matstoppet har en annan smak och en annan vibb än det första. Vi tillbringar ca 30 minuter här
Efter en kort tågresa (din biljett ingår), anländer vi till Kyobashi. Vi tror att en bra Osaka natttur involverar mer än bara ett kvarter! Kyobashi var en gång den främsta porten när det kom från Kyoto, och det är det fortfarande idag, om än i mindre hektisk grad. Ett nöjesdistrikt med en annan typ av restauranger, vår korta promenad runt detta område kommer att visa dig saker som inte finns i Tenma, än mindre någonstans som Dotonbori. Inom ca 30 minuter från det att vi lämnade restaurang #2 i Tenma, kommer vi att vara på väg till vår sista foodie stop. Vi hoppas att du fortfarande har plats, för vi har en tredje restaurang i beredskap för dig. Återigen, annorlunda mat, annorlunda vibbar. Vi kommer att spendera ca 30 minuter här.

This was a highlight of our trip! We were so happy to be introduced to the areas of Temma and Kyobashi. Loved the vibe and the food. Tommy was our guide and he put together an amazing selection of locations with excellent atmosphere and food. The walk in between was part of the fun, we had great conversation and learned a bit about the customs and culture of the area. Recommended for sure.

This was a fantastic tour! Hugo took us to three excellent choice restaurants. Even better, the places we went to and the food dishes he chose and ordered for us were so varied and so interesting that I think over two thirds of the many things we tried were completely new to me and I consider myself well travelled. There were lots of culinary surprises, giving many a raised eyebrow, but as is needed in these food tours, it is best to just get on with tasting and eating, which we all did, and there were just empty plates left at each stop. The dishes were not something I would know to order from a menu or would even have thought to have as either a main course or an appetiser so to get to try so many things in one meal tour was amazing. Hugo was probably the best host and guide that we have had out of our many food tours: informative, friendly, engaging, welcoming and entertaining. Even though two groups had to be combined on the day due to illness of another guide, he handled the ten of us very well. (Of note, Qudos to the tour company who emailed us to apologise for having to have a larger group than the maximum 6 as promised, but also offered full refunds if desired, available up to one hour before the tour start. No one took that option it seems and they were right not to. The group size was fine and we all had a treat.) Lastly - the Wagyu beef optional upgrade, available at the time of buying the tour, was well worth it for us. We were the only two on the tour who did this and I suspect others regretted not buying it. It isn’t cheap, but Wagyu beef isn’t, and the 100g portion size gave each of us 8 large mouth sized chunks to savour. There was more than enough food to eat in the basic tour without the additional Wagyu, but we pre-ordered it because we knew we would be unlikely to go to a steakhouse and have a Wagyu meal another time. The Wagyu steak was so delicious, tender, juicy and tasty that I would recommend it to anyone who eats meat, whether you think you like steak or not. Don’t leave Japan without trying it (and this is a great way to do that) 10/10 for this tour even though I’ve had to rate it 5/5!

Three tastings with drinks- food was good and different in each place. It’s not really a food centric tour because the tour content is more about Osaka culture and some of it is pretty dark. If you want more of a culture and history experience with food then this might be for you But if you want a more food focused tour this may not be the right one especially with you have teens or younger with you The guide was very knowledgeable and paced himself to the group.
Not sure at all which part was "dark," but you are spot on (and inline with the tour description) that it is a culture and food tour. It should still be noted that we go to three restaurants and serve a very large spread of food and drinks across all of them. For those looking to belly up to restaurant after restaurant in quick succession, there are indeed better options out there. For those who want to eat and drink aplenty, but also dive into the local scene on a truly small group tour (generally limited to six guests) that eschews Dotonbori for real life - well, we are waiting with open arms and a giant "okini"!

Our Osaka food tour with Bryan was nothing short of extraordinary.
