Ocean Kajak och Snorkling

A pleasant experience. It was a big tough on the way back because we had some wind, but it was lots of fun. The tour also includes snorkeling near the Islands of Shora.

Although snorkeling equipment is included, you should know fins are not included. I was on a tour today, the waves on the reef are strong and 3 people had to be rescued. I have snorkeled many time in Costa Rica and am a fairly good swimmer. As the waves pulled me out i was not able to swim fast enough to overcome the current. I yelled for help and luckily my son and a woman nearby helped me to shore. Our guide was on the beach on his phone and never even saw what happened. I would have drown if not for my son and the help of another snorkeled. I would not recommend this tour.

So glad we went with Carrillo Tours for kayaking and snorkelling off of La Chorla island near Samara Beach. The guides were great - fantastic English (and Spanish), funny, concerned with safety, pointed out wildlife, etc. Our group was not too big - 4 double kayaks. There were other tour companies out at the same time with larger groups - I'm glad Carrillo Tours had us as a smaller group, by choice or by luck. You don't need a lot of athleticism to do the kayaking or the snorkelling.

Nice afternoon kayaking to Isla Chora. Fairly easy paddle from the beach, arriving on the island about 25 minutes later. Very nice beach and the snorkeling was good. Our guides were personable and did a nice job explaining everything.

Javier was excellent and very attentive. The team was so kind and accommodated our special requests. The kayaking was great and the snorkeling remarkable especially when coming face to face with a turtle. Topped off with some fresh pineapple.

A lovely kayak with Christopher from Carillo Tours this morning. Such a knowledgeable guide with perfect English. He went out of his way to provide us with gluten free snacks too. A lovely experience - would highly recommend.

As everywhere, the prices are exorbitant but the Service and activity here are also bordering on the scam. 10/15 minutes kayaking for a little hour on an overcrowded sandy tongue under the sun (or rain), with some pineapple tips offered. Then snorkeling in rough water, with at best 1m deep, little visibility and anyway nothing to see! Rare little blue fish, a little octopus among gray pebbles and without any interest. All for $120 for 4, including two young children... Avoid!

We just returned from a family trip to beautiful Costa Rica and I can't say enough about our wonderful guide, Leonardo with Carrillo Tours! We booked 2 experiences with this group, and both were excellent. Leonardo was fun, knowledgeable, and kept us safe as we kayaked out to the beautiful little island. He called out to the iguanas, and they emerged from seemingly everywhere - pretty cool! The extra service and kindness of Leonardo was above and beyond. Our daughter lost her GO-Pro in the surf and he went back to the beach later that afternoon and again the following morning to search for it, hoping that it would have washed up onto the beach. It was so thoughtfull for him to try and return her recorded memories to her! This tour group even picked us up from our hotel and transported us back, kindly stopping at a small grocery on the way so that we could purchase a few items to stock our casita. We also went with Carrillo Tours and Leonardo for the sea turtle watching adventure which was beyond amazing and which I highly recommend! Leonardo took us to the precise area where turtles were known to come to lay their eggs. We saw the whole process, as the turtle emerged, dug the hole, deposited her clutch, refilled and camouflaged the area, and finally returned to the sea. Wow! What an experience - not to be missed!!

Our guide was very nice and helpful . First time we kayaked snorkeling was not great not many fish to see but had fun kayaking for first time .don’t expect to see many fish but it was still a fun trip .
