Norge Lofoten Privat strandutflykt från Leknes

We visited Lofoten during the summer this year and decided that driving ourselves would not be the best option. Since we were unfamiliar with the roads, we wanted to fully relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery instead of concentrating on driving. We chose a private tour with Mr. Gunnar and booked a customized two-day itinerary based on our interests. The tour covered both East Lofoten and West Lofoten, allowing us to explore the islands thoroughly. Mr. Gunnar is a friendly, polite, and thoughtful guide who was always willing to help with anything we needed. He is also knowledgeable about Lofoten and shared many interesting facts and local insights throughout the trip. Our ship docked at Leknes and our guide Gunnar, was waiting at the end of the Wharf as we came ashore. We spend the day crossing from island to island, working our way down to A on Moskenesoya. Gunnar knew all of the best photo spots and kept up an informative commentary all the way. He was only too happy to pull over for photo stops whenever the narrow roads allowed. Lofoten Islands are a well kept secret. Rugged vertical mountains aligned in rows along the coast. Swirling clouds hugging the tops of the peaks or drifting down the mountain sides. The coast is rugged but each little bay hid another small fishing village complete with its red buildings We stopped for lunch at Nusfjord Village for a hearty bowl of fish soup before continuing back towards our ship. We also had a bonus inclusion with a sighting of Orcas off the coast.

We took a private tour with Gunnar from Reine and he knew how to include the wonder of Lofoten Island and its prized gems. He offered us the ability to customize the trip with walks, photos and tea service among nature. He also informed us with modern, sustainable local economy (seaweed farming) highlights and knew where to stop for a delicious lunch experience (Nusfjord). He even had a traditional Nordic snack for hiking ! A wonderful day among the flora and fauna of the arctic, including setting us up for Northern Lights indicators that night. We followed his advice and captured quite a magnetic storm above our cabin in Reine. Highly recommend Gunnar to visitors that want local knowledge from a Norway native.

We saw breathtaking landscapes, learned about local wildlife (the elusive eagle), and ended the night under the midnight sun feeling grateful, grounded, and inspired. While taking a cruise with AIDA with my German wife and family we booked Gunnar for a day. I can honestly say it was the best tour I have ever done. Gunnar was so gracious and friendly and knowledgeable. We even talked about the governing systems in Norway and history not only of the people but the land. It was without a doubt well worth the price!!! His German and English were fantastic!!!! He also added personal touches with coffee and chocolates! Next time we are here we will book him again!

A wonderful day being driven around by Gunnar in his very comfortable electric car (this is Norway). He is very knowledgeable about the Lofoten Islands and we had a very relaxing and fun time in his company. We saw some spectacular scenery and visited some very interesting villages during the day we had there. Coffee was provided as well, along with a Kvikk Lunsj (a Norwegian Kit-Kat). We had a lovely excursion from our cruise ship with Gunnar. He was so kind and friendly, and he had clearly thought about the itinerary that would suit us, based on our interests and what we had discussed with him. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area and knew just the right places to take us to. The little extra bits that he did were really appreciated, from hot drinks and a snack, to looking at (and tasting) local produce. It was a really fulfilling and enjoyable experience and we would highly recommend Gunnar. It was the best experience we had on our cruise.
