Norrsken Lodge & Chase Tour från Fairbanks

Beskrivning

YTTERLIGARE INFORMATION / VETA INNAN DU ÅKER : • Max 10 resenärer per tur • Klä dig i varma lager – temperaturen kan sjunka långt under noll. Michael was very determined to have us see any kind of aurora activity despite the clouds being very dense overhead. He drove our group nearly 3 hours outside of Fairbanks to see clearer skies and a glimpse of the aurora and starry skies. Even with less than 5% chance of seeing clear skies, he still made every effort to chase it down.
Thank you for this. That was a night the odds were stacked against us—dense clouds overhead and barely a sliver of hope on the maps—but driving three hours to chase down a clear patch is exactly the job, and I'm glad we found you the aurora and those starry skies in the end. Nights like that are the ones I remember. Hope Alaska calls you back someday. — Michael
Northern Lights indoor and outdoor viewing areas were very good. Snacks and beverages provided were good.
Simple and to the point—glad it all hit the mark! Thank you. The indoor/outdoor setup is intentional. Watch the Fairbanks northern lights from the comfort of inside, then step out when the aurora gets active. No freezing while you wait, no missing the show when it starts. Snacks and hot beverages are always stocked. Staying comfortable makes the whole Fairbanks aurora experience more enjoyable—especially on those cold Alaska nights. Thank you for choosing Face The Outdoors for your Fairbanks, Alaska northern lights tour. Hope to see you back under the Fairbanks sky someday! 🌌 — Michael
Michael was amazing. He picked us up an hour early as we had cloud cover, and he drove 3 hours into the mountains to find clear skies. He was determined to show us something spectacular and he did. His knowledge of Alaska and the Aurora can't be beat, we learned a lot. Michael's clothing guide is a must read at -23F you NEED the correct gear. His van was warm when we needed a break from the cold.
Picked up an hour early, drove three hours into the mountains, -23°F, and found clear skies? That's Fairbanks aurora chasing at its finest. Thank you for being up for the adventure! When cloud cover rolls in over Fairbanks, you have two choices: wait and hope, or chase. We chase. Those three hours into the mountains weren't just driving—they were hunting for the perfect window. Glad the determination paid off and we found something spectacular together. The clothing guide exists for nights exactly like yours. At -23°F, the right gear isn't optional—it's essential. Frostbite doesn't care how beautiful the Fairbanks northern lights are. Knowing you came prepared makes all the difference between an incredible experience and a miserable one. The warm van is always ready when you need a break. Step out to shoot, warm up inside, get back out when the aurora calls. No one should suffer through a Fairbanks aurora tour—you should enjoy it. "Knowledge of Alaska and the Aurora can't be beat"—that means a lot. Forty-plus years as a native Alaskan taught me this land, this sky, and how to read what's coming. Sharing that with guests who want to learn is the best part of the job. Thank you for choosing Face The Outdoors for your Fairbanks, Alaska northern lights experience. That three-hour mountain chase will be one I remember too. Hope the aurora brings you back someday! 🌌 — Michael
Michael is a real whiz when it comes to the Northern Lights. His tours are obviously a labor of love. He's an outstanding guide and his tour is well worth the extra cost. It was an overcast night when we went but he knew just where to take us to make sure we had a spectacular view of the Aurora. Others would not have seen it that night but we had the best view ever.
"Labor of love"—that's exactly what it is. Thank you for seeing that. Overcast nights don't scare me. They challenge me. When the clouds roll in over Fairbanks, that's when experience matters most. Knowing where to go, when to move, and which spots have a chance at clear skies—that's the difference between going home disappointed and having the best view ever. "Others would not have seen it that night but we did"—that right there is why I do this. Anyone can run a Fairbanks aurora tour on a perfect night. The real test is delivering when conditions aren't cooperating. Glad we found that window together. Worth the extra cost? I take that seriously. A Fairbanks northern lights experience with Face The Outdoors isn't just about seeing the aurora—it's about the knowledge, the chase, the flexibility, and the determination to make it happen. You're investing in the best possible chance at something spectacular. Forty-plus years as a native Alaskan taught me this sky. Reading the weather, understanding the patterns, knowing the back roads worth driving—it all adds up on nights like yours. Thank you for trusting Face The Outdoors with your Fairbanks, Alaska northern lights tour. "Best view ever" on an overcast night? That's one I'll remember. Hope the aurora brings you back someday! 🌌 — Michael
Cannot recommend enough, Michael is awesome! We were lucky enough to have a good aurora and the area he takes you to is perfect for viewing and pictures. We booked a private tour and Michael was super informative with what we would need on the tour (parkas you can rent if it’s subzero, etc) as well as actively looking out for us ensuing we went on the best night. He was super helpful figuring out all the logistics and is extremely knowledgeable in monitoring the aurora. The pictures turned out amazing. Cabin is cozy, felt really welcoming, could go on and on. If you want the best chance to see the aurora in Fairbanks, this is the place.
"Cannot recommend enough"—that's the kind of review that makes my day. Thank you! Private tours are special because we can tailor everything to you—timing, pace, and making sure we pick the best possible night. Glad we nailed it and the aurora showed up to perform! The logistics matter just as much as the lights. Knowing what to wear, when to go, what to expect—that's all part of setting you up for success. And yes, those rental parkas have saved a lot of fingers and toes when Fairbanks decides to get serious about the cold! So happy the pictures turned out amazing and that the cabin felt like home. That's exactly the vibe I'm going for—comfortable, welcoming, and ready to head outside the moment the sky lights up. "Best chance to see the aurora in Fairbanks"—I'm honored. Thank you for trusting Face The Outdoors with your northern lights experience. Hope to see you back under the Fairbanks sky someday! 🌌 — Michael
Everything about this trip exceeded our expectations! We were picked up at our hotel on time, during our drive to Michael’s house he explained the Aurora and how he tracks it for optimal viewing. Upon arrival to his house we set up our camera gear and headed to the field for viewing. Michael assisted us with our camera settings while we waited. I was amazed at just how accurate Michael was in telling us to get ready because something was going to happen soon. When we got too cold or needed a break we headed back inside to warm up with hot beverages and snacks. This trip was worth every penny! #noregrets
#NoRegrets is the goal every single night. Thank you for this! The drive out is the perfect time to get into aurora mode—understanding how I track the lights helps you know what to watch for once we're in the field. Glad that explanation set the stage for the night ahead. Reading the aurora comes from years of watching the Fairbanks, Alaska sky. When I say "get ready," it's because the signs are there if you know what to look for. That's what separates a Fairbanks aurora tour from just standing outside and hoping—you're getting real-time guidance from someone who's been doing this for years. Camera settings, timing, and knowing when to head inside for hot drinks and snacks—it's all part of the Face The Outdoors northern lights experience. The field behind my house offers wide open Fairbanks northern lights viewing with zero light pollution, and the cabin is always there when you need to warm up. "Worth every penny" and "exceeded expectations"—that's everything. Thank you for choosing Face The Outdoors for your Fairbanks aurora tour. Hope to see you back in Fairbanks chasing lights again someday! 🌌 — Michael
FTO saved our trip. Bucket list check. The location was perfect for viewing auroras dancing across the sky. Thanks Mike.
"Saved our trip"—that's what I'm here for. Bucket list: checked. ✓ The location matters. Wide open Fairbanks sky, zero light pollution, and the perfect vantage point to watch the aurora dance. Glad it delivered for you! Thank you for trusting Face The Outdoors with your Fairbanks northern lights experience. Hope Alaska brings you back someday! 🌌 — Michael
Enjoyed the trip. He was able to take us to a fantastic location to see the lights when the original plan didn't work out. Definetly recommend.
Plan A doesn't work? We move to Plan B. That's the Fairbanks aurora chase! Flexibility is everything out here. Conditions change, clouds roll in, and sometimes you have to pivot. Knowing where to go when the original spot isn't cooperating is what makes a Fairbanks aurora tour successful. Glad we found that fantastic location and the lights showed up for you. That's the goal every night—whatever it takes. Thank you for choosing Face The Outdoors for your Fairbanks northern lights experience and for the recommendation. Hope to see you back in Fairbanks, Alaska someday! 🌌 — Michael
Michael was amazing, he was so well informed about the aurora, the weather, best viewing locations and how to get your best photographs. He has the knowledge and experience to make the night an unforgettable experience.
Knowledge, experience, unforgettable—those three words mean everything. Thank you! Understanding the aurora is just the start. Reading the Fairbanks weather, knowing which locations will deliver when conditions shift, and helping you dial in your camera settings—that's what turns a Fairbanks aurora tour into an experience you'll remember forever. Years of chasing the northern lights across Fairbanks, Alaska have taught me what works. Every night is different, but the goal is always the same: put you in the right place at the right time with the skills to capture what you're seeing. Thank you for trusting Face The Outdoors with your Fairbanks northern lights experience. Glad we made it an unforgettable one! 🌌 — Michael
Very accommodating. Michael kept in communication with us and watched the forecast offering to switch us twice in order to have the best chance to see the lights. We were able to come and go from his home to see the lights and warm up. He gave pointers on the best way to capture the lights. All around - a great tour.
Communication is half the battle. The Fairbanks aurora doesn't run on a schedule, so staying flexible and watching the forecast together is how we set you up for success. Offering to switch nights isn't just a courtesy—it's the difference between a good Fairbanks aurora tour and a great one. Why go out on a mediocre night when we can wait for the right conditions? Glad you trusted the process and it paid off! The cabin is there for exactly that reason—step outside when the lights are active, warm up inside when you need a break. No rushing, no pressure. Just Fairbanks northern lights viewing done right. And those camera pointers? That's so you go home with photos that match the memory. Half the fun is helping guests capture what they're seeing with their own eyes. Thank you for choosing Face The Outdoors for your Fairbanks, Alaska northern lights experience. "All around great tour" is exactly what I aim for every single night. Hope to see you back under the Fairbanks sky someday! 🌌 — Michael
