Beläget på den nordvästra delen av Qatar, byggdes Al Zubarah Fort förutom ruinerna av ett gammalt fort. Al-Zubarah var en gång en blomstrande hamn och ett centrum för handel, fiske och pärlor. Nu en UNESCO: s världsarvslista, detta skyddade område har blivit en av de viktigaste arkeologiska platserna i Qatar. Ett internationellt team av arkeologer och antikvitetsexperter, ledda av Qatar Museums Authority, har avslöjat många av artefakterna som visas i det renoverade fortet.
Den gamla pärl- och fiskebyn är platsen att se för dem som är intresserade av arv och lära sig mer om Qatars historia.

the experience is great! it was a short half day trip but my guide saloo was great at explaining all the sites and entertaining the guests! his knowledge of the place made me learn alot and i will definitely recommend this to people who want something different from the skyscrapers of doha

Some interesting sights outside of the main cities of Doha and Lusail, and Saloo is a wonderful driver/guide. The fish market was colorful, and the reconstructed Al Zubarah Fort was quite impressive and provided some informative historical background. The mangroves and old village were of lesser interest, at least for me. But the itinerary was delivered in full as promised, and Saloo took good care of us, treating us to spiced chai or coffee, providing water, and taking some creative photos. He also kept us comfortable and informed while driving, There was a fair bit of driving given the distances between the sights, but that was to be expected.
Very nice trip to the north of Qatar. We were with a group of 4. We've seen the fish market , mangroves, Zubarah fortress and an abandoned village. We even had rain today in Qatar. Thanks to our guide Saloon for a very nice day.
The tour covers really a lot in one afternoon and because of the coverage, the trip is closer to 5 hours or more, which is a nice thing seeing so many sights in the country. The variety of the stops at the fish market, on the purple island, Al Zubara fort and Jumail heritage village gives a great overview and understanding of the history and the presence of the country. The size of 6 people in the group is just perfect for exploration, it feels almost like a private tour. There were no further fees included, all the sights are free-of-charge to be visited and the complementary karak tea was one of the best ever tried. And last, but not least, without the outstanding attitude and professionalism of our tourguide Saloo, this tour could not have been a great adventure.
Very good to visit the north of the country, our guide Abdallah was excellent. We saw the fort of Zubarah, the mangrove forest and the ruins of an ancient fishing village.
