Sweet & Spicy Experience är en rundtur i världen av de två mest kända matprodukterna i Kalabrien: Den röda damen, Tropeas rödlök och drottningen av Kalabrien, Ndujan från Spilinga. Två riktiga stjärnor i köket, älskade av de största nationella och internationella kockar. Cipolla Rossa från Tropea, känd för sin sötma, är en ödmjuk ingrediens i den kalabriska bondetraditionen med många botande egenskaper. Nduja, en traditionell kryddig bredbar salami med en intensiv och unik smak, symboliserar en hel region. Under de söta och kryddiga upplevelserna kommer gästerna att besöka en lökgård och en Nduja-fabrik och upptäcka alla jordbrukssteg, produktionsinsatser och livscykeln för växter och djur. Att lära sig att para ihop och hur man använder dem i köket. Smaka på ett toppval av båda produkterna direkt på gårdarna.

We had a wonderful time visiting the onion farm and the Nduja plant. We learned all about how they harvest the seeds, plant and grow the onions, and why they are so different from other onions. At the Nduja plant we were able to go inside, with protective gear, and see them processing the meat, smoking the sausages, and packaging up everything for retail sales. It was very interesting to learn so much about the two specialties of Calabria. Enzo, our guide, is a gem and is very knowledgeable about the area.

Such an interesting tour of the Tropean onion fields and tasting of unique products. This was followed by a visit to the Nduja factory! Delicious on bread and so many other ways. Enzo who owns the business, is extremely informative, helpful and kind. We learned so much.

Our tour was led by Enzo who made this experience worthwhile before we reached the Tropea Onion fields and the Nduja factory. The Tropean onions are unique and we learned why. Ndjua is delicious. Great to learn how its made and how to use it.

This tour was fantastic. Enzo was very friendly and accommodating. The tour provides a deep dive into the both the world of the famous Tropea onion as well as what will become more famous, Nduja.
