Naxos : Halvdagskurs i matlagning på Basiliko Farm

Great way to visit a 5th generation active farm on Naxos. The experience from the farm to the history to the food was fantastic. When making the reservation may want to check how many people are signed up as we had close to 30 which made for a bigger that expected group.

Amazing experience, all around.

This was the highlight of our trip to Naxos! An incredible experience. We learned a lot of great history, enjoyed an amazing meal, and made friends with the other guests that lasted throughout the duration of our stay on the island. Not to mention that the scenery of the farm is beautiful— unlike anything we’ve ever seen. The cherry-on-top of the experience was an authentic Greek dance lesson, plate-smashing, and a Mamma Mia sing-a-long. Highly recommend doing this experience!

Wear sneakers! It was fun learning about the history of Basiliko Farm. We enjoyed the initial sweet treat, the wine and lemonade. We made easy friends with the other guests because our hostess got all of us to share our backgrounds. After we walked to the garden and picked vegetables then enjoyed preparing them. While our dinner cooked, we strolled through the woods to learn about the history of the farm. After a delicious dinner we danced and smashed dishes, skipping away 😂. Thank you, everyone was very kind 💙

Absolutely book this tour. It was so much fun for all of our group. The food, wine, and dancing were the highlight of our week.

This experience will be one we talk about every time we reflect on our visit to Naxos. The family‑run farm understands hospitality in the most genuine way. You’re welcomed like a friend, then invited to be part of the cooking itself — gathering fresh ingredients from the garden, chopping vegetables, seasoning the dishes, and getting hands‑on with every step. I loved that. While the meal cooks, you’re taken on a beautiful walk and tour of the property, learning about the land, the family, and their traditions. And when it’s time to eat… did I mention the food is delicious? Every dish is full of flavor and made with care. I’ll definitely be making these recipes when I get home. A heartfelt, authentic experience — highly recommended.

It was a really fun day. We had a tour of the farm where we learned about the island, history of the area, how they live and farm. We collected vegetables for dinner, chopped everything up for cooking, while drinking wine and talking. Ended the day with a great dinner, Greek dancing, and plate breaking. Just a note that you need to arrange your own transportation, and depending on where you are staying, it can get expensive if you are far away. Personally, I would not recommend driving yourself as the farm is in the hills, and the last part of the drive is a bit challenging, down a very rustic road.

Multigenerational family farm shared farming methods and family experiences. We picked our produce, met the working animals, and experienced a historical tour of the property and its significance in the history of Naxos. The food was delicious and the wine flowed. Thank you to our hosts and the great time spent with the other guests.

This was an absolutely lovely experience. It was the highlight of our trip! We cooked and ate with other families, and toured the farm. My children were thrilled and thoroughly exhausted after the experience. Word to the wise, they give you so much food to eat, you won’t be able to keep up. Make sure to get there hungry!

Excellent experience!! We loved every minute of it, from picking the vegetables in the garden to walking the property and learning about all the animals, trees and fruits and vegetables growing, to the history of the farm. We would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about the history of Naxos, and enjoying a beautiful home cooked meal.
