This was a great way to spend a couple of hours brought to life by the passion of Dwayne and Chantelle. Their enthusiasm for the creatures we saw was infectious. The group was a little large at about 20 but they managed it very well

The Namib Desert Night Walk was a very special and absolutely recommended experience for us! The pickup worked perfectly. Chantal picked us up on time at our hotel in Swakopmund, and after only about a five-minute drive, we were already in the riverbed of the Swakopmund River. The car was parked there, and then we followed our guide Chantal in single file into the nocturnal desert. What followed was truly fascinating. We discovered various geckos, spiders, and even a small mouse, which Chantal patiently tried to lure out of its hiding place. In the process, we learned an incredible amount about the small creatures, their way of life, and their adaptation to the desert. Chantal is an extremely enthusiastic and passionate guide. You can tell immediately how much she loves the desert and its small inhabitants. It was particularly impressive how reliably she tracks down the animals and how much knowledge she can share about every find. Another highlight was the photos: Chantal is very familiar with a wide variety of smartphones and is happy to help capture the small desert dwellers perfectly. The impressive close-ups and the fascinating pictures of the animals and other small details under UV light were a real highlight. After this exciting tour, we were brought back to our hotel on time. An extraordinary experience that you don't have every day and that will certainly stay in our memories for a long time. Highly recommended!

on August 22nd , with batis birding safaris, a part of the Naturalist Collection, we took this evening tour to observe the incredible nightlife of the namib desert. It was an exciting tour, one of the most interesting of our entire trip to Namibia, also thanks to the skill and friendliness of the fantastic Chanelle! The refusal of some people allowed us to take a "private" tour. (remember Chanelle?) wow, what a drive! thank you for the experience you gave us. If you are in Swakopmund, you MUST do this tour....!! Chantelle and Jan guided us to get the best views. We didn't see a wide variety but what we saw was very interesting. Thankfully no snakes as it was a very cold night. Fascinating and very knowledgeable. Also liked that they had a lot of respect for the environment.

A fascinating walk on the gravel plains. We saw lots of very interesting small animals and insects. The guide is very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Really recommend this one.

I can only agree with the previous speakers. This is a fascinating tour, and Chantal's ability to discover the (surprisingly) many inhabitants in a seemingly uninhabited desert is simply incredible. Highly recommended! A mobile phone or camera with a good macro mode is an advantage.

This was a highlight tour of our holiday. Chantelle the guide was knowledgeable and skilled at finding these little creatures of the gravel Plains. She made this very enjoyable and with a small group made this like you were very much welcome to experience. We went on the Living Dunes tour the next day with Chantelle and this was different again. I recommend this tour.

One of the best activities that we have done in over 30 years of travelling in southern Africa. Chantelle is a superb guide. Even though the group was quite large, she (and her team) are so skilled as teachers that everyone got to see the amazing night creatures and learn about them. This included links to active research work by biologists, and archaeologists - the San artefacts were fascinating. The creatures we looked at, geckos, crickets, spiders, were beautiful. We could see the amazing close up detail so well using the special lights. Plus Chantelle is so much fun! The walk is done very carefully so as to avoid causing disruption to the animals and environment. Pick up and drop off from our accommodation was perfect, and the driver was nice to talk to. I wouldn't have driven it at night myself. We had the included dinner at the Hotel Deutches Haus, which was excellent German/Namibian food.

We had an amazing experience with the night walk tour. We saw a few spiders, two geckos, and a couple of crickets, and the explanation of our guide (Chantelle) made us look at them from a different angle that is really cool. This is a very special tour that doesn’t feel commercialized at all.

WOW! Loved. Loved. Loved this tour. What an amazing experience. The passion and knowledge Chantelle has of these special desert creatures of the night is outstanding. She genuinely cares about these fragile desert ecosystems and ensured that nothing was harmed and that we left minimal trace. A definite highlight of my travels through Namibia 💚
