Our visit to Munnar Tea Tails was made truly unforgettable thanks to our guide, Mari. His knowledge of tea cultivation was remarkable — he walked us through everything from the seeds and stems to the different varieties of leaves that grow from the very same plant, along with detailed insights into the harvesting and growing process. What set him apart was how far he went beyond just guiding. He picked out the best viewpoints across the plantation and suggested different poses and styles for our photographs, making sure we walked away with truly memorable pictures. He even prepared and served us a fresh cup of tea right there in the plantation. Beyond his expertise, Mari was warm, polite, and wonderful to talk to — we shared plenty of laughs along the way, which made the experience feel personal rather than just another tour. He then took us to the Lockhart Tea Factory, where he explained the entire tea-making process in detail. I would highly recommend Mari to anyone visiting Munnar — his knowledge and genuinely warm character make him one of the best guides you could ask for.

Great tour. Mari is a super patient and knowledgeable guide. He explained everything nicely and went out of his way to take our pictures. Came back having learnt quite a bunch of things about tea.

Moni was a fantastic guide, very friendly and kind he answered to all our questions and showed us with interest. He really made the tour amazing. For us it was interesting to get to know more about the tea. Even the factory is nice, with the old machines. At the same time it is sad to see the workers operating without proper ppe and old school conditions (for example loud environments and fast moving machines)

Our Munnar Tea Garden Tour with Tea Factory was a really great and unforgettable experience. We were very lucky with the sunny weather and having a private tour as there were no other guests. Mari, our guide was so friendly and caring. He explained everything about tea planting, nursing, harvesting, tea making process, wildlife and the many other plants, flowers, medical use of some plants so good, lively and in a very perfect English. So we umderstood everything and learned many new things. We thank hom very much! Thanks a lot also for the team that made this tour possible, as I booked it very late, due to technical issues. The tour was great. We have learned a lot about tea production in Munnar and Mari our guide could answered all our questions we had in this 3h tour. On top he has a good knowledge about all other plants or animals in the tea plantation. We were lucky and had a private tour for the two of us but we are sure Mari handles bigger groups easily as well.

Very good exploring place nature greenery

Mari was a fantastic tour guide. He knew so many details about the history of the plantation and factory. It was a wonderful experience to do the tour and learn so much. I would highly recommend this tour and tour guide.

I booked 2 hours before we came and it was the most incredible experience I’ve had in Kerala so far. All the staff were so friendly and it was truly a memorable day looking at all the tea plantations. In particular, Mari, tour guide, was so knowledgeable throughout the tea plantation walk, the tea factory and the tea tasting. Mari was also so friendly and made the experience so much better. I highly recommend Mari and this experience to anyone visiting Kerala and definitely the in Munnar!!
