Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking

I booked a solo private tour with Bali Sunrise Trekking and Tours for the Mt. Batur sunrise hike, and it completely exceeded my expectations! The Driver: He was extremely punctual for the early morning pickup. Even though it wasn’t originally on the itinerary, he was happy to accommodate my request to stop by Akasa Specialty Coffee for an hour on the drive back so I could enjoy the view and relax. The Trekking Guide: My guide was phenomenal. Since it was a private tour, he gave me his full, undivided attention and adjusted the hiking pace perfectly to my fitness level. We made it to the summit in about an hour and completed the descent in just 30 minutes! This gave us a full 2.5 hours at the top to watch the sunrise and explore the crater at a comfortable pace. On top of that, he was super proactive in helping me take tons of great photos throughout the trip—a massive bonus for a solo traveler! Everything felt smooth, safe, and personalized from start to finish. Highly recommended!

The trek upto MT Batur is not for beginners or average fir people .Its quite hard if you not in good physical condition.However once up the sunrise is definitely worth it.Dress warm as it gets pretty cold on the mountain before sunrise.

Mount batur was an unforgettable experience. The tour guides were knowledgable and great at keeping the morale up. The view of the sunrise was amazing and it was a once in a lifetime experience. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone who comes to Bali, the climb is definitely worth it! We had Putu as our driver. He was very kind, attentive and most importantly reliable and on time. If you need a reliable, friendly and attentive driver then Putu is a great option.

Efficient pickup from the hotel. Hike is moderate in intensity on some steep, crumbly terrain so some level of fitness is recommended. Guide will provide the headlamp, water and breakfast so just bring your hiking shoes and hiking layers. View on top is great. Def a recommended Bali activity! We tacked on a half day of additional sight seeing on our way back from the volcano with our highly experienced and friendly driver, Made.

We had a wonderful experience climbing Mount Batur with this agency! It was just the two of us, and we arrived before the other groups, so we had a great spot to watch the sunrise. The driver and guide were very professional and kind—I highly recommend them!

Did the sunrise trek with Wayan and it was amazing! He was a great guide, helpful, informative and also let me go at my own pace. Would recommend!

We were a group of 7 and had a really great hike! Would definitely recommend to book with Bali Sunrise :) We stayed in two different places in Ubud and it was really easy to arrange the pick up from both places. The driver was on time and brought us safely to a nice cafe to get the including coffee/tea and to start the trek afterwards. We were hiking with Wayan and Nano who adapted well to our fitness level and made sure everyone was doing okay during the hike which was definitely harder than expected. They also shared their knowledge about Mt Batur, the flora and fauna as well as Indonesian culture and were really friendly and funny. Thanks for this amazing experience!

We enjoyed the trek - the company were brilliant - arrived timely, friendly driver with good English, lovely calm guide who gave us time when we needed it for breaks and calculated the correct time to arrive for sunrise based on our ability. Very helpful tour organiser on WhatsApp with good communication. Enjoyed doing this off season as fewer people on trek. No view of lake due to cloud but a wonderful view of the other volcano peak poking through the clouds was well worth it. We were lucky with the weather but wouldn’t like to do it in the rain. The price for a private guide was very fair and enabled us to go at our own pace. Thank you!

The ride is very well pass the hike also I recommend the batur mountain with a beautiful view after the effort.

We were picked up by our driver Yoyo who was nice and friendly. We were then taken to the bottom of Mount Batur (about 2 hours drive from Sanur) where we met another couple and the guide. We started our ascent and the guide will stop occasionally if you need a rest. He is honest with how far you have to go and the elevation still left. If you are struggling, there are people on scramble bikes which will get you 90% of the way at an additiional charge. Once at the top you have your own bench to sit on whilst your guide arranges breakfast (banana sandwiches, hard boiled eggs and a chocolate bar), whilst you get comfortable and await the sun. As the sun rises, you can take your own photos/videos or the guide will assist. After about 30-40 minutes, you will start your descent which can be challenging at times due to the gradient and loose rocks. If you're struggling I would suggest speaking to your guide as it might be possible to take an easier less challenging path, dependent on your pick up point. A lovely experience and definitely worth the early get up.
