This company is the worst. They ask for payment in advance for the tours and then look for excuses not to conduct the tour and keep the money. Since January 2025, we paid $3000 and to date they still owe us money; according to them, they made a payment plan that they never fulfilled, and to date they owe us more than $1000. They have not returned the money, claiming that they paid for hotels and due to their error the tour did not take place, and they have not refunded the money. Do not trust them. They say they are closing the company and if you deposit, they will keep your money.
Highly recommend doing this tour & adding the cable car to view above the clouds. Johan was a fantastic guide. He started the day by taking us to a local restaurant for breakfast, then up the mountain we went. He provided history & information about the plants and animals in Costa Rica along the way. The hike was beautiful and we were even greeted with a family of Howler Monkeys. After our time on Monteverde Johan took us to lunch at the most quaint restaurant with the most flavorful pizza.

Johan was an excellent driver and tour guide. He knew so much about the rainforest and gave me plenty of time to take pictures. He also chose yummy spots for breakfast and lunch arranged an excellent coffee tour for us. It was an additional fee, but a good price and worth it. They had a nice gift shop and coffee at the end. I would highly recommend taking this tour!

It was wonderful visiting the Monteverde Cloud Forest. The clouds that came and went as we hiking through the area were very impressive. We saw several groups of howler monkeys as we were driving to the forest. The hanging bridges were lovely and gave us a nice vantage point from the tree tops. This was supposed to have been a group tour, however, it turned into a private tour since there were no others. Our driver changed things up a bit and we missed a good portion of the advertised tour, including the Butterfly and Hummingbird Sanctuary, a Coffee/Chocolate tour, and a traditional Costa Rican lunch. All of which we were very excited about. In lieu of the Costa Rican lunch, we went to an Italian restaurant, albeit, a lovely one. On the return trip, the driver was driving at 130 KPH on the freeway in the rain and it was a bit frightening. $370 was a lot to spend for this tour and unfortunately, we don't feel like we got our monies worth on this one. The guide was a very nice person though.
Unfortunately we have a fraud alert from you. Coffee and sloth tours are an extra fee, although the restaurant is apparently not, and the selected menus have typical foods, where you can choose, we also check the GPS of the vehicles and on your estimated date Cris and Lory Oconor No vehicle registered speeds greater than 93km, and rather our guide indicates that it was you who requested to go faster to arrive early, a request that he did not agree to, fortunately for us we have videos and photos in all the places you visited already. that we have become aware of and been affected by the attempted fraud on your part
Very good experience! We had a private tour for our family of four people. It's a long trip from Guancaste but it worth it!

Our experience NEVER happened, because someone from your local team in Guanacaste cancelled our trip. We NEVER did and the fact that we are even getting this survey proves we did NOT cancel it. We were unable to book it for the next day as it was full and then our vacation was over. You were unwilling to offer us anything in compensation, which was very upsetting.
From your hotel they told us their request to cancel it, strangely at 6:30am they called us, are they coming now? We did not understand, he asks us for compensation, his refund is made as normal, that he wants to take the tour and demand a 50% discount on each person, this is already abuse and apart from this to places where the tour did not go... The curious thing is that Several colleagues from other tours in Guanacaste alerted you of several cases similar to yours during that week and coincidentally from the same hotel and same requests, coincidence we are a small country and with technology everything is known quickly....
This was a great tour! when we arrived to the forest we were lucky to see tons of monkeys in the trees right at our checkin area. everyone was glued to watching them jump and swing as well talk back and forth. once we got into the forest we saw more monkeys - howling and white faced! we saw several mammels that reminded us of rats as well several spiders, ants that work so hard every day back and forth with small parts of leaves, macaws, tucan bird, walked over beautiful areas on suspension bridges. it was just a beautiful time and we were blessed with some clouds coming down to us yet no rain. our guide was extremely knowledgeable and enjoys what he does. on our way out we went to the hummingbird area and it was so cool to have them fly right by you so close to hear their wings as well take amazing photos! they are so much bigger than the ones we have here in the states and are so brilliant in color! this was a great tour, we enjoyed the walk and the info we learned on so many different animals, insects and trees/flowers. it is beautiful and we didnt tire of hearing or looking or seeing so much.

Warning, another trip cancellation by AYE. I called them 3 days before trip and was told to meet 6am. I called again 24 hours before and no pickup. Called at last 10 times throughout the day. No pickup and no response. Now I’m waiting 6am and no show on the tour guide. When I pull up reservation online, there is no info about it anymore. What a scam. The weather is perfect and no storms. It’s April dry season. There is no excuse for this. Look at their previous reviews and see how many were cancelled last minute. I should have checked more and learned my lesson now. DO NOT USE AYE Tours.

Due to bad weather, the Monteverde, Rio Ceslete and Tortuguero tours were suspended until further notice. The rains of the last days make it difficult to arrive and enjoy the activities Dear traveler, we send a welcome message to your email before arriving in Costa Rica. Answering and writing down the requested information is very important. The places that Sew visit are outside of San Jose and the beaches of Guancaste where the climate is indeed much drier. Places like Monteverde, the Arenal, Río Celeste and Tortuguero are located on the Caribbean slope where the rain is more intense, this causes closures of routes, attractions or the river does not look clean. If we take travelers and they don't see the river (they tell us why we are taking them) many times this ends up in a counter charge where the company always loses it; the typical people who want to travel and eat for free. We try to avoid this and we prefer a bad comment that in the end is subjective than to continue losing money with dishonest people. Mostly it is on the part that we do not receive a response to our messages and he becomes the classic person who waits for the day of the tour to send even the pick up information. Pura vida
We have not had a great time thanks to the attention of our guide and his driver. They have a very good knowledge of the different wallets so that we were able to avoid the traffic jams. They also gave us many interesting information about the place where we had the excursion and beyond regarding the country itself. Throughout the day we were treated great always making sure that everything was going well and that we were missing nothing. It will clearly be an experience that I will not forget and neither will the many laughs during the journeys.
