07:30 Hotell hämtning och avresa destination Champagne regionen. Det finns ca. 140 km att köra. Turen tar cirka 2 timmar och en del av den går längs det pittoreska champagnelandskapet och vingårdarna. Ett stopp vid en rastplats kommer att göras.
10:00 - 10:45 besök hos den lokala familjeproducenten Champagne Tribaut eller liknande lokal producent. Provsmakning av 3 Glas Champagne med förklaringar. 10:45 Avgång till Epernay (10 km). Det tar ca 15 minuter.
11:00 - 12:30 Ankomst till Epernay. Av Moet et Chandon erbjuder vi dig tre olika alternativ inklusive guidade källarbesök och provsmakning av 2 glas champagne. GRUNDLÄGGANDE alternativ: "L"Imperial" Upp till 19 personer, 1,5 h. Guidade källarbesök med provsmakning av 2 glas champagne: Moët Impérial och Rosé Impérial. MEST POPULÄRT Alternativ: "SIGNATUR" Upp till 15 personer, 1,5 timmar. Guidade källarebesök med 2 glas champagne: Moët Imperial et Grand Vintage. 12:30 - 14:00 Lunchrast i Épernay. Vi kan göra en bra lokal restaurangbokning eller så kan du spendera tid på egen hand. Épernay är känd som Frankrikes Champagnehuvudstad. Beläget längs floden Marne, omgivet av vinkullarna, är det hem för många regionens mest prestigefyllda champagnehus. Épernay är ett måste för champagneälskare. Walk the Avenue of Champagne lockar många turister. 14:00 Avfärd till Pressoriamuseet i byn Ay. Det tar bara 10 minuter (4 km).
14:15 - 15:15 Besök på Pressoria Museum i byn Ay och förklarar Champagneregionens historia och champagneproduktion inklusive champagneprovning av 2 glas champagne. 15:15 Avfärd till Hautvillers - en liten historisk by på toppen av kullarna. Det tar cirka 10 minuter (6 km).
15:30 - 16:00 Abbey's Church of Sindulphe d'Hautvillers besök. Abbey grundades 665 och förblev aktiv fram till den franska revolutionen 1789. Dom Perignon har utvecklat vinframställningsmetoderna i regionen Champagne. Numera finns det 26 lokala champagneproducenter i byn. Kort stopp vid utsiktspunkten med bästa panoramautsikt över vingårdarna och floden Marne. 16:00 Avresa till Paris. Det tar 2 till 2,5 timmar beroende på trafik (135 km).
18:30 Kommer tillbaka till Paris. Lämna av på ditt hotell.

A delightful day that was well organized. Wish that our guide would’ve shared more information and knowledge. Guide was very quiet and barely spoke. We did not see the church and gravesite promised in the tour description (it was not even mentioned) and we were dropped off in a town square to find our own lunch for 2 hours. But tours were great, we were picked up on time, very clear communication before the day of, car was clean as promised.
Enjoyed our tour of the champagne region. We saw all the places on the itinerary that we really wanted to see. The timing of each stop was well done, and Alexander was an excellent driver. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was the choice of restaurants for lunch - we were dropped off between two Italian restaurants...in France? Probably our fault for not requesting a reservation somewhere. This didn't ruin our day and we would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys champagne and its history.
Overall this was a good trip although a touch pricey. The itinerary was good and they delivered what was promised with the 9 tastings at the 3 establishments including Moet & Chandon. Transport was very comfortable in a Mercedes van. A word about the driver/guide Vadim. An excellent driver who tried his best to accommodate us. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, his command of English was limited to a handful of words. This took away from our enjoyment of the drive through the countryside as he was unable to explain anything to us. This was most disappointing especially since we had specified an English speaking driver/guide. It would be good if Clewel Tours paid more attention to details and did not take their customers for granted.
Cyrus from Clewel Travel took us to an amazing trip of the Champagne region of France. He took us to two family-owned wineries and one big commercial champagne producer. We loved the mellow, crisp, and exquisite champagne produced by the family-owned vineyards, particularly the brut made from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and White Chardonnay. The rolling hills, idyllic valleys, pristine woodlands, quaint towns and villages of the Champagne countryside are spectacular sights and lovely with breathtaking views. It helps to have a guide like Cyrus who knows the good wineries in the region. This trip was a break away from just another tourist spot that other tour companies takes you to. Cyrus also went over and beyond his services by taking me to a pharmacy to get covid test at Epernay, as my flight back to New York is for the following morning. I will most definitely use Clewel Travel for my future travels in France, and hopefully I will get Cyrus again for a guide.
