Den största koncentrationen av vilda asiatiska elefanter i hela världen kan hittas i Sri Lankas Minneriya National Park, som är hem för en mängd olika arter. Nästan 31 000 hektar utgör Minneriya National Park. Närmare 170 fågelarter och andra djur finns också i området. Jeepsafari är ett populärt sätt för besökare att gå genom parken, vilket ökar deras chanser att se parkdjur i deras naturliga livsmiljö i skymningen. Det finns några parker istället för Minneriya nationalpark ( Hurulu ekopark, Kaudulla nationalpark) och vi kommer att guida dig för att hitta den bästa parken för att se elefanter enligt väderförhållandena.

Vad är det speciella med Minneriya National Park? Minneriya nationalpark | De antika städerna, Sri Lanka ... Parken domineras av den antika Minneriya Wewa och har gott om buskmarker, skog och våtmarker på sina 88,9 kvadratkilometer för att även ge skydd åt toque makaker, sambarhjortar, bufflar, krokodiler och leoparder (de senare ses dock mycket sällan). Det finns mer sällsynta djur för grupper att upptäcka i parken, som den lankesiska leoparden och den lankesiska sengångsbjörnen, men båda är svårfångade och svårare att se. Förhållandena i parken ger en väl lämpad livsmiljö för upp till 160 fågelarter, inklusive vattenfåglar som pelikaner, storkar och hägrar.

This safari was the highlight of my trip! Our guide Sudath and driver Ananda were so knowledgeable about the elephants and their habitat. Seeing them in the wild roaming free was so special. To watch these majestic creatures frolicking in the lake was phenomenal. I was grinning from ear to ear throughout, what a magical place Sri Lanka is and what a privilege to witness these beautiful creatures in their ancient land ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🇱🇰♥️book this safari asap

We had a fabulous trip with our very knowledgeable guide. He was patient and stopped continuously to point out birds and wildlife. We saw many elephants, some alone, some in groups, and a number of young calves staying very close to their mothers. I highly recommend this tour. Alan

A perfect experience! We went on the safari with our 6-month-old baby and our driver drove in such a way that it wasn't too complicated for her. All three of us had a wonderful time 😊! Thank you

Had a great time at Eco park with Sudath. He arrived on time and kept in contact leading up to the pick up. Got very close to lots of elephants including a relatively newborn one with its mother.

Our driver was able to take us to a quiet area in which we were able to get very close to a family of elephants. He was punctual and very friendly. Lovely to see elephants in their habitat.

Originally we booked to go to minneriya but asked if we could go to eco park instead as this was known to have more elephants at the time, and the driver was happy to take us there instead. The driver was great at pointing out all of the different animals on the safari, such as elephants, peacocks and different birds. An extra treat was he stopped and got us a king coconut on the way home! One of our favourite activities we have done on this trip. One thing to note is entry to the national park isn’t included in this price so make sure to have cash to pay on arrival. We paid 5000SLR for 2 people.
