Melbourne Zoo General Entry Ticket

The price is in USD and it’s more than the zoo price better book through Melbourne zoo website. It was raining and didn’t see much of animals it was bad weather for zoo and there was no much of animals to see it was more like a maze then a zoo

We arrived around 2pm. All the school children were leaving when we arrived. We stayed until closing. They were feeding a lot of the animals after 4pm. We were able to get great pictures with the animals moving around. My favorite was the Pygmy hippos, and the little penguins. Would definitely go again.

The zoo is fantastic. One of the best we have been to. It is well maintained and the enclosures are excellent. We sent a good half day but could have spent longer. Great for young kids

Very nice zoo with plenty of great exhibits. Although it is always hit and miss whether you see active animals at a zoo, we were fortunate to see many - especially the emu couple at the first enclosure by the train (rear?) entrance. Saw koalas (awake!) along with spotted leopards and penguins. Bird aviary was nice too. Worth the half day trip from CBD. PS- train ride was easy except for the open the door on your own part.

It was nice, quick and convenient to book our zoo tickets via Viator. The Zoo was lovely, clean and the staff was quite pleasant.

This is a lovely zoo with lots of different animals to see. Most of the exhibits are done in a way that you do get to see the animal as there are different vantage points to look from. My only complaint is that there wasn't any transport through the zoo like golf carts etc. (like Australia zoo) that would help people get around more and easier. Even having something that went up and down the centre and dropped you at each of the trails would have been a big help for anyone like me who struggles with walking. There was a lot of seating areas and toilets and places to buy things to eat, so that was a plus.

One of the best planned zoos I have ever visited. The different themed paths to follow make the visitor's experience very pleasant. The construction is exquisite to hold many animals in a small piece of land in the middle of the city. Definitely recommend for all animal lovers like me.

I was horrified by how my family and I were treated at Melbourne Zoo. I had purchased tickets to the butterfly house online, and when I arrived with my elderly parents, Leah at the ticketing desk was immediately extremely hostile and insisted that we buy zoo tickets as well. It says nowhere on the website or the tickets that butterfly house tickets must be purchased in conjunction with a full zoo pass. Both my parents are elderly and disabled and can only walk very short distances. Even though I explained this, the staff - Ada and Leah - insisted that I had to pay a further $180 just so we could walk through the zoo. To make it worse, the staff let slip that apparently an exception was made for a wealthy donor, who was attending later that day for a private tour of the butterfly house. And to top it off, the staff tried to prevent my disabled mother from using the bathroom - presumably as they thought she might sprint off into the butterfly house?! My mother became quite distressed and was in tears. I have never had such an abysmal customer service experience. I believe this breaches consumer laws, and prohibitions against disability and age-related discrimination, not to mention being disgusting behaviour simply as human beings. 0/10 would not recommend.

Booking with Viator is not good. I didn’t get to use the tickets but they have not contacted me to ask why and I don’t seem to be able to contact them I’ll never use this booking system again.

Beautiful gardens and very clean. Although I like to go to a zoo to see animals. I am getting very tired of paying big $$$ to enter zoos and staring at empty enclosures. Are they sleeping? Hiding? Or is there actually nothing in there, I mean who would actually know?! I was looking forward to seeing the gorillas as I recall them from going here many many years ago. Very disappointing this was. They need to build many more viewing areas as where the gorillas were you could only just see their backs from a distance. How long do you have to wait for them to move and come closer to the viewing areas? Put more viewing areas in so no matter what they’re doing, visitors can see them, especially kids, as they’re the reason we went. This is the same for the lions. Before the new enclosure you could see so much more of them. Sure, the new enclosure is nicer however depending where the lions are, you don’t get a great view of them. We also waited what seemed like forever for the orangutans to appear. So much time wasted waiting. I feel this zoo was a lot better 10-15 years ago. I wouldn’t bother returning.
