Mekong Delta My Tho Privat dagstur

I took this tour multiple times with other travel operators, also I grew up in the Mekong Delta area and had moved to Saigon, then currently live in New Zealand. In saying that, personally I am not new to the area or the tour, but still chose Travelmates to make our family trip easier, no hassle and it definitely was with the professionalism of Travelmates. We had my parents (over 70), my daughter (teenager), my brother’s family (including his 5 year old child who was born and lives in South Korea) and the tour met every single one’s needs. I told Tong that my specific requirements were: to see and take photos with a python, also horse-drawn carriage. Other things were typical for this tour that I didn’t need to mention. And yes all my requirements were all met. My daughter was so happy that she could touch, pet and took photos with a gentle python around her neck. Even my nephew enjoyed touching the python too. The kids also loved the horse-drawn carriage experience. (Although I felt a bit sorry for the horses but it’s their jobs 😅, the horses looked healthy though). We all had nice experience with the canoeing along the creeks, my brother and his little son also paddled themselves for a bit, which was fun for them. The meal was incredibly tasty with big portions. The meals was served at a very big, nice and clean restaurant, where my little nephew could watch some mudskippers 😅. My parents and I, who lived in the Mekong Delta for a long time really enjoyed walking between the real authentic alleys between places, under the shade of different fruit trees. It brought back our memories which was quite nice. The tour guide Minh didn’t rush us to move to the next place (as most guides like to complete the tour in time), which I appreciated. We went on a very busy day with traffic happened in most of parts of the roads between Saigon and My Tho, but the driver was calm, which I appreciated too. We booked our river tour through Travelmates, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to southern Vietnam. We first stopped at a beautiful fruit garden, where we tasted fresh tropical fruit straight from the trees — a big hit with the kids! Then we visited a colorful Cao Đài temple, where Anna shared fascinating insights into the religion’s unique history and traditions. Our destination, the Vàm Cỏ River, offered a calm and authentic experience — not crowded or overly touristy like some parts of the Mekong Delta. It was a relaxing, educational, and thoroughly enjoyable day. We highly recommend Travelmates for anyone looking to explore southern Vietnam in a well-organized and family-friendly way!
