On the recommendation of our friend we booked a cooking class at Sona. Cleverly and with warm joy she guided us in the production of the individual dishes. She tells us with joy the process that we could easily recook the food, such as Palak Paneer or Alu Tiki. She also explained to us how the individual ingredients work with each other on our bodies. That’s when we realized how deeply connected it is to Ayurvedic cuisine. Thankful we could spend some hours with her.
We decided to organize the cooking class when we arrived in Varanasi, we hadn't thought of it before, and it was a really good choice! Sona is 'super hospitable and attentive, and also gives you a lot of advice .. it was one of the best dinners of our holiday! Super recommended!
A perfect way to get to see how real Indian food is cooked and prepared. Sona is very welcoming friendly and knowledgeable and provides great tuition. Fantastic authentic experience
If you want to immerse yourself in the true India, you should find your way to Sona. Your cooking class is much more than just a guide to cooking. In their cozy, small kitchen there is immediately a great atmosphere. Sona is a wonderful hostess with whom you can have great conversations about life, Indian culture and of course the love of food while cooking. Her warm nature makes the experience completely personal and authentic. The cooking itself was just amazing! We prepared a completely vegetarian menu, which was great in taste. The absolute highlight was the introduction to their world of flavours. Especially great was the sona sent us all recipes. An absolute must for anyone visiting Varanasi. Thank you, Sona, for this unforgettable experience! Thank you Bettina and Werner
Recommend 100%. Sona and her family are lovely and so welcoming. The food we made was delicious and I can’t wait to make it again when I go back home. A fantastic experience!
Very tasty food. Sona speaks very good english and she explains things well. I wish I had more time to learn more recipes!
Lovely few hours with our teacher chatting and learning how to make chapatti, tarka dhal and veg curry. Sona is very interesting and helpful. Recommended.
A group of four friends did a cooking class with Sona as our last activity on our trip to India. It was a memorable experience! Sona is a great cook and teacher and also a lovely person. We enjoyed chatting to her while she showed us how to make samosas, Dal fry and naan bread. Everything was delicious. I thoroughly recommend doing this class if you are visiting Varanasi as it's a great way to get to know local people!
Sona takes the time to get acquainted, tell things about the country and the food, she explains well and does this with enthusiasm. We were a family of 4 people (two teenagers), by the small kitchen would not go with more people.
We had a great class with Sona and made a delicious lunch. Shona's kitchen is small but perfectly organised. We would recommend this class!
