Materuni vattenfall och kaffe turné Ca 20-30 minuter utanför Moshi finns Materuni-vattenfall. Eftersom den här resan är så nära är den perfekt för dem med begränsad tid men vem skulle fortfarande vilja se några av de natur och skönhet som denna region i Tanzania har att erbjuda. Dessa fall är mindre än de tidigare beskrivna Ndoro, men fortfarande ganska impresiva på 150 meter höga och definitivt en syn värd att se. Från Materuni Village går vi ca 30 minuter till vattenfallet. Vandringen är mycket intressant, eftersom du kommer att se några mindre vattenfall och massor av vattenvägar som ingår i bevattningssystemet för de lokala bönderna som odlar kaffe, bananer och många andra frukter och grönsaker.

Från Materuni Village går vi en timme till vattenfallet. Själva promenaden är extremt intressant, eftersom du kommer att se några mindre vattenfall och massor av vattendrag som är en del av bevattningssystemet för de lokala bönderna som odlar kaffe, bananer och många andra frukter och grönsaker. Vid vattenfallet kan du till och med svalka dig i det svala och kristallklara vattnet, glöm inte att ta med dina badkläder! Här kommer du också att äta lunch innan du gör en kort rundtur i byn Materuni för att se Chagga-stammens typiska liv. Byn, belägen på en höjd av cirka 1300 m (4300 fot) över havet, ligger i ett dramatiskt landskap av höghus och djupa dalar, alla täckta av tropisk regnskog. Kaffetur Byn Materuni producerar många färskvaror, inklusive jams, socker, majs och bönor. Den huvudsakliga grödan som odlas är dock kaffe. I byn kommer du att kunna lära dig om processen från vilken kaffe odlas, tills det slutligen hälls upp, rykande hett i koppen.

As other reviews might have mentioned, our hotel was also overcharging us for a return taxi drive to the Materuni waterfall including the hike. We came across Prosper through a recommendation and it made our stay in Moshi incredibly pleasant on top of a very reasonable price for his service This man is incredibly polite and such a pleasure to spend time and talk with. The type of guy to stop the car for you so that you can take some good pictures of Kilimanjaro. All in all, if you want to have a good time in Moshi, choose for Prosper.

After being in Tanzania for nearly 2 weeks, we had already done a safari and hiked Kilimanjaro, so we wanted something to do and explore with our last day. We spoke to the hotel and they put us in touch with Prosper Mmary, who became our taxi driver/ tour guide for the day! What a day! We experienced a rainy day, in dry season, so the drive to the waterfall was an unexpected challenge. The mud road was slick and soggy, we got stuck just before the location, so all the lads that run the coffee tour came down to push us out the bank and up the hill! This was a hilarious start to the day. The coffee tour was a great experience and highly entertaining. My partner and I had actually done one previously in a different country, but this was a whole different show. The Coffee Boys showed us their plantation, explained how the coffee grows and is processed and then sang to us, while getting us involved in picking, shelling, roasting, grinding and finally tasting the coffee! I’ve never had such a fresh brewed coffee! At the end of the tour, it was souvenir time, which we were happy to get some fresh coffee and my girlfriend got some local artwork (everyone pushes their artwork in Tanzania) We decided that due to the rain, we had to skip the waterfall, as it would have taken over the double the time there and back. Instead, Prosper took us on a trip back down to dry land, out the mountain, through some local towns/ villages and to the Hot Springs, which wasn’t as hot as I was hoping, but was yet another great thing to see! All in all, we had a great day and I would happily recommend Prosper as a tour guide, he was very helpful and polite, spoke great English, was very knowledgable of the area and stopped for every photo opportunity we wanted A great last day, to an altogether amazing holiday
