Vi börjar turen vid den berömda Palma-katedralen, där vi börjar vår promenad runt området och tar in all den underbara arkitekturen och historien som denna härliga stad har att erbjuda!
Vi kommer att passera en av de mest kända strukturerna i stadens centrum, "Estatua Es Foner" eller "El Hondero" som översätts till "The Swinger". Denna vackra struktur donerades av skulptören Jaume Mir 1992. Jaume Mir var en av de mest prestigefyllda mallorcanska skulptörerna på 1900-talet och hans arbete och rigorösa teknik är internationellt känd.
Vi kommer att fortsätta att upptäcka "Gamla stan" i Palma när vi går genom dessa vackra trädgårdar! "S´hort del Rei" som översätts till "Kungarnas trädgårdar" som ligger under Almudainapalatset. På 1300-talet hade detta område begränsad tillgång och var fullt av fruktträd, växter, grönsaker och färgglada blommor. Den nuvarande trädgården renoverades på 1960-talet av arkitekten Gabriel Alomar. Alomar baserade renoveringen av detta utrymme på traditionella andalusiska trädgårdar. Idag har trädgården cypresser, fontäner och en stor damm. Utnyttja den fantastiska fotomöjligheten här och ta några bilder som håller livet ut!
Här kommer vi att ha möjlighet att gå längs en del av de gamla romerska murarna som byggdes för att skydda staden för alla dessa år sedan. Du kommer att ha den spektakulära utsikten över Almudaina-palatset härifrån och utsikt över andra delar av staden!
När vi väl kommit ner från väggarna kommer vi att stanna för foton utanför Palma-katedralen (La Seu), och höra hur den romersk-katolska kultplatsen byggdes på platsen för en gammal arabisk moské. Gå sedan in för att beundra dess runda, målade glasfönster och Gaudi-designade funktioner. Den färgstarka, och ofta kontroversiella, modernistiska konstnären satte sin prägel på platsen, och hans iögonfallande altartavla anses vara katedralens höjdpunkt. Eftersom du är på vår privata guidade tur behöver du inte vänta i några långa köer som samlas vid katedralen (mycket långa!).
När vi har avslutat rundturen i den vackra katedralen kommer du att kunna beundra skönheten i det kungliga palatset i La Almudaina, som går tillbaka till 1300-talet. Det är officiell residens för deras majestäter kungen och drottningen under deras vistelser på Mallorca. Tillsammans med Palmas katedral utgör de ett landmärke för Balearernas huvudstad. Ett palats som speglar de konstnärliga stilar som har följt varandra genom öns historia.
Medan vi fortsätter att promenera genom den vackra gamla staden Palma kommer du över Ayuntamiento de Palma, som ligger på Palmas Plaza de Cort. Det byggdes mellan 1649 och 1680 av arkitekterna Pere Bauçá, Miquel Oliver och Bartomeu Calafat. Några av de mest framstående elementen på fasaden är balkongen med sju stora fönster, Rellotge d'en Figuera (Figuera-klockan) och Banc del si no fos (Bank of om du inte missar det). Själva byggnaden förklarades som ett historiskt-konstnärligt monument som tillhör National Artistic Treasure genom dekret av den 3 juni 1931.
Medan du tar in den hisnande utsikten över Palmas gamla stadsdel och den historiska arkitekturen, håll utkik efter olivträdet Cort! Detta unika träd, känt som Olivera de Cort, planterades 1999 från bergskedjan Tramuntana, som en symbol för fred och rotfasthet i landet. Cort Olive Tree ligger mitt på torget, precis framför stadshuset. Trots flytten och dess ålder fortsätter den att bära frukt varje år.
Den här är för konstälskare! En byggnad som måste ses på grund av dess egenskaper. Den stilistiska utsmyckningen av fasaden ända fram till inredningen visar ett starkt inflytande av katalansk modernism, särskilt några av Gaudís verk - ta in all dess ära och få ut kameran för att kunna vårda dessa ögonblick för alltid!

Really good trip to get an insight into the old town of Palma and a really good understanding of the cathedral. We had Luis as our guide and he was very good with explanations, pace and keeping us in the shade where he could. Would really recommend.

arrived in plenty of time , tour was only 1 hour instead of the 1.30 as described. you can learn what we were told on the web. disappointed. on the other hand guide was very nice . though some time hard to understand though it was in English
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we have to disagree with several of your statements because they are simply not accurate. The walking tour did not last one hour. It lasted almost the full 90 minutes as advertised. In fact, while the guide was still with your group at 15:08, sharing additional recommendations for restaurants and places to visit in Palma after the official tour had finished, your partner was so tired that he almost fell asleep twice inside the Cathedral. We have records confirming these timings. We also find it surprising that you state there was "nothing you couldn't learn on the web." Our licensed local guides provide historical context, stories, explanations and local recommendations that go far beyond what can be found by reading online. Finally, we would like to point out that before publishing this review you requested a full refund through Viator. After reviewing the case, Viator rejected your request because the tour was delivered as described. We could not find the location to meet. In hindsight in reading reviews, others had the same difficulty. Yet the tour operator has not made it easier despite this issue. Tried communicating with the tour guide via Viator messaging (only option available) Got one message and no response to meeting at another location as the tour was 1.5 hours long and we were messaging 7 minutes into the tour. Viator refuses to refund our money. Will never use them again. Tours by Local going forward. We have always heard directly from the tour guide and had a way to communicate directly with the tour guide.
Thank you for your review, although it does not accurately reflect what happened. On the day of your tour there were 62 participants in total, including your party of four. The other 58 guests found the meeting point, arrived on time and joined the tour without any difficulty. Your group was the only one that did not. If 58 guests successfully locate the meeting point and only one party misses the tour, it is difficult to argue that the problem was the meeting point itself. The meeting point information was updated this year and includes detailed directions, a map, written instructions and contact options. You also had the possibility to contact us before the tour if you had any doubts, which you did not do. Arriving 10-15 minutes early, as clearly requested on the voucher, would have provided plenty of time to resolve any uncertainty. What is also surprising is that your own messages show that you were not entirely clear about the product you had booked. You wrote to us: "Ok. Requesting a refund as we had no way to communicate. And we were under the impression this tour was just for four." This was never advertised as a private tour. It is clearly described as a shared group tour. The timeline also contradicts your account. Your first message arrived at 11:37, after the tour had already started. We replied to you, and at 11:51 you wrote: "We are trying a different direction to see if we find you. Give us a few minutes." This shows that more than 20 minutes after departure you were still looking for the meeting point and were not close to the group. You mention Tours by Locals as an alternative, but omit the fact that comparable private tours there cost much more. They are completely different products. Finally, Viator reviewed all the information and rejected your refund request because the facts were clear: the tour operated normally, the meeting point instructions were provided, and 58 guests plus your own party's four places were accounted for, with only your group failing to arrive at the designated location on time. We understand that missing the tour was frustrating. However, it is unfair to blame the guide, the company or the tour itself for a situation that resulted from your group not reaching the meeting point as instructed. — The Nofrills Excursions Team

Fairly good tour. But probably could have done most of it on our own. Not a lot of historical content

The amount of historical information provided is actually one of the aspects most frequently praised by our guests. Of course, every traveller has different expectations. Some visitors are looking for a deeper historical experience, while others prefer a lighter introduction to the city. Our aim is to strike a balance between history, culture, architecture and an enjoyable walking pace. That said, we do agree with one thing: Palma is a wonderful city to explore independently as well. Don’t book through Viator. Stood in a lineup for 1 1/2 hours for a taxi. Should have a shuttle or a better way to get people to the location.
