Malacca City (även stavat Melaka) är huvudstad i kuststaten Malacka i sydvästra Malaysia. I centrum ligger Jonker Street, Chinatowns huvudgata, som är känd för antikaffärer och nattmarknaden. I närheten finns det kinesiska Cheng Hoon Teng-templet från 1600-talet med utsmyckade dekorationer och flera bönesalar. Ett grönt, tredelat tak toppar den Javanesiskinfluerade Kampung Kling-moskén från 1700-talet.

Vänligen vänta vid hotellets entré och din chaufför hämtar dig därifrån. För upphämtningar utanför Kuala Lumpurs centrum (utkantshotell) krävs en avgift på 80 RM per bil och väg, som betalas direkt till föraren kontant.

We had a fantastic experience with THS Tours and Travels during our trip to Malacca, and a special thanks to our driver, Selvam! He was punctual, friendly, and made the entire journey smooth and comfortable. Selvam was very professional and helpful throughout the trip. He made sure we had enough time to explore the beautiful tourist spots in Malacca and also shared useful information about the places, which made the visit even more enjoyable. From the historical attractions to the lively streets and scenic spots, the whole tour was well organized and stress-free. Selvam’s safe driving and polite nature made us feel relaxed and welcomed throughout the day. Highly recommend THS Tours and Travels and especially Selvam for anyone planning a trip to Malacca. It was great to visit Melaka and, for the amount of time we had, we managed to see quite a lot. In hindsight, we would have preferred to travel independently by bus and stay overnight to have more time. Despite being advertised as a night tour, we left around 7pm, before sunset, so it didn’t really feel like an evening experience. Our guide, Kelvin, took us to a Portuguese restaurant where the food was delicious. He had plenty of information to share, without it ever feeling overwhelming. One small suggestion would be allowing some free time in the shopping streets — it felt a little awkward going into shops with a guide following, and we would have enjoyed the chance to explore independently before regrouping. Overall though, Kelvin was an enthusiastic guide, who looked after us really well.
Our guide Gan was friendly, helpful and flexible. He took time to explain various historical landmarks. I’d definitely recommend him to others!
