I denna dagstur från Chennai kommer vi att besöka Pallava arkitekturens tvillingunderverk, Mahabalipuram och Kanchipuram. Denna tur är värd för en Five Senses Tours som är ett företag som godkänts av turistministeriet och är också medlem i den prestigefyllda indiska föreningen för researrangörer. Vi kommer att täcka de magnifika templen Ekambareswar & Kailashnath i Kanchipuram. Efter det besöker vi den antika hamnstaden Mahabalipuram och besöker de legendariska stenhuggna strukturerna som ligger Arjunas botgöring, Five Rathas och det ikoniska Shore-templet som bokstavligen fungerade som fyr för sjöfarare från 700-talet och framåt. Företaget främjar den lokala försörjningen genom att utbilda och anställa lokala guider och nedlåtande lokala företag. Detta är en helt guidad tur med pick up and drop, privat bil, heltid guide, lunch och alla entréavgifter också.

Vi besöker Ekambareswarar av Pallava-dynastin för att uppskatta dessa gamla arkitektoniska underverk. Dessa byggdes 600 AD och är magnifika exemplar av arkitekturen Pallava.
Vi kommer att besöka det magnifika templet Kailasanathar-templet från Pallava-tiderna. Kanchipuram var huvudstaden i det medeltida södra indiska kungariket Pallavas. Pallavasna var instrumental i övergången från rock-cut arkitektur till sten tempel. Vi kommer att uppskatta dessa arkitektoniska underverk byggda 600 AD.
Mahabalipuram är en gammal stad och var känd för att vara en handelspost under Roman Times. Det steg fram till framträdande som en livlig havsport under regimen av Pallava-dynastin med huvudkontor i Kanchipuram under 7th century AD. Fartyg som seglar från södra Indien till Sydostasien brukade avgå från Mahabalipuram-hamnen. Panch Rathas, eller de 5 vagnarna är vår första destination. Dessa är stenklippta monolit templ strukturer dedikerade till Draupadi och 5 Pandavas från den episka Mahabharata.
Vi besöker också Arjuna's Penance, en 100 fot x 45 fot bas relief där ett helt mästerverk från Mahabharata epic har skurits.
Nästa stopp är vid Krishna's Butterball, en nyfiken syn på en 5 meter diameter bollformad sten som ligger högt uppe på en sluttning och trotsar Newtons tyngdlagar!
Den legendariska Marco Polo hänvisade till Mahabalipuram som staden 7 pagoder. Shore templet är den enda 1 av de magnifika 7 templen, som har överlevt tidens ödlor. Magnificent Shore Temple lockar oss. Detta 8: e århundradet strukturella templet är gjord av granit och fungerat som en fyrbåt för havsfartyg i tiden.

Tour Guide Jainath and driver Mahendran arrived early to Hotel with a comfortable AC transport Car. Tour Guide extremely Knowledgeable of Historical Sites and was able to properly answer all questions I had. Driver was safe. I would Highly recommended tour if short on time and want a grand experience of Ancient Temples. Great Value and a wonderful lunch was included….. Two Thumbs Up
An absolutely wonderful experience with Hareesh guiding me all day through many temples and historical sites. My first day ever in India became a day to remember with the insights, friendliness, and warmth of a guide who truly loves what he is doing. Super exciting sights, excellent lunch, and knowledge of Indian history and religion to the fullest.
Kannan is an excellent guide! He took the time to explain the highlights in a succinct and informative manner. Great sense of humor and very flexible.
We had an excellent day exploring these two amazing places with Jainath and his local guides. Both were knowledgeable and passionate about the history. There was time to examine each place and appreciate the history and culture in them. Highly recommended the day. The driver was excellent as well, getting us between sites in the busy traffic. The trip could be improved by using a larger more comfortable car for such a long day.
Five Senses is a great tour company putting focus on the local community. Our guide Jainath was very knowledgeable and friendly and we had a very good time! Not only he showed us the wonders of Kanchipuram and neighborhood town Mahabalipuram, but also got us in touch with the local people who take pride in their work and culture. We also learnt a lot about eating manners to have during a wedding (we are attending one in 2 days). Overall we got a great impression lf history, architecture and culture in only one day!! Highly recommended.
We had a great time with our guide Jainath. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a good feeling for the South Indian culture and his eye for architecture was impeccable. He even invited us for a quick coffee and breakfast!

Fantastic tour. Many historical places and ancient temples to see. We have learned so much about temples, depictions of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Definitely recommend.
