När du avgår från Nelly Bay färjeterminal kommer du att besöka alla stora sevärdheter, inklusive en eller två hemliga platser som en del lokalbefolkning inte ens känner till. Vi avslutar med en timmes ledig tid i Horseshoe bay för lunch till dig.

Efter att ha gått på bussen vid Nelly Bay terminal kommer du att träffa din vänliga lokala guide som kommer att eskortera dig hela dagen. Våra guider är alla lokalbefolkningen med djup kunskap om livet på ön. Efter en kort introduktion kommer du att ta dig fram genom Nelly Bay till västra sidan av ön. På vägen får du lite bakgrundsfakta på ön och en introduktion till geografi och fauna.
Stängda tisdagar och mellan Australien dag till påsk. Beläget i den kulturarvade Picnic Bay School och den historiska Butler Hut, driver museet ett museum och säljer lokalt gjorda båtar och historiska publikationer. Museet visar öhistorik genom permanenta utställningar och varierande årliga utställningar.
Valfritt stopp där vi kommer att upptäcka sin historia och hur den räddades från rivning och ta in de vackra omgivningarna
Inget besök på Maggie skulle vara komplett utan ett stopp vid Geoffrey Bay för att se om du kan hitta några av våra extremt söta Allied Rock Wallabies. Dessa wallabies finns bara i norra Queensland mellan Townsville och Burdekin River. Geoffrey Bay är också en möjlighet att komma ut ur bussen och komma nära och personligt med våra otroliga bergformationer.
När bussen klättrar uppför den långa branta backen mot Horseshoe Bay får du en hisnande utsikt över ön. Du kommer sedan ner på andra sidan in i det gamla jordbruksområdet innan vi stannar till för en timmes lediga tid i Horseshoe Bay där en mängd olika livsmedel finns att tillgå. Under vintern när fjärilarna finns i närheten kommer vi definitivt att besöka Fjärilsskogen för en kort bush promenad. Det är en upplevelse att inte missa och bra balsam för själen. Horseshoe Bay erbjuder också simning året runt med en säker simhall på plats under sommarmånaderna. Ett utmärkt ställe att svalka sig om du tar med dig simmare.
Efter lunch kommer du tillbaka till färjan, vilket ger dig chansen att fånga dessa otroliga vyer ännu en gång. Den här gången kommer vi att gå igenom baksidan av Arcadia längs den vackra Hayles avenyn med ett kort stopp vid Aquasearch Aquarium ($ 3 inträdesavgift, endast kontanter) där vi ska försöka hitta Nemo och Dory och prata om våra jätte musslor innan vi går tillbaka till färjeterminalen i tid för att träffas den 3 pm avståndet till Townsville.

Just right. Neil, our guide was friendly, informative & knowledgeable. The 5 hour tour (including an hour lunch stop) was never boring. Comfortable van. Tour nicely timed to fit in with ferry times.
This tour was the best way to obtain a good overview of the island - especially the populated / tourist bits; as well as could be done in a day, and much better than could have been achieved independently. Neill provided great commentary throughout, laced with some humour at times. He covered historical facts, geographical and geological information as well as natural / environmental facts. The time available of course limited the opportunities at locations which one might have liked to explore some more; however, Neill was most accommodating when requests for quick photo stops were made.
Neil is extremely knowledgeable about the island and its flora and fauna. His enthusiasm about living there is contagious. Being a local he can probably answer all of your questions.
An excellent tour to gain an overall view of Magnetic Is. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we saw many things we would not have known about if doing a DIY explore. Travel from Townsville very easy with the SeaLink ferry , and the tour better value than taking our own car or hiring on Magnetic.

A great intro to Magnetic Island covering the geography, the history, the flora and the fauna. And a very knowledgeable guide who clearly loves his island. Definitely recommend it!

What a fantastic day! Can highly recommended this day tour. Worth every cent. We had been to the island before many years ago but just explored it ourselves. This time, on the tour, we learnt SO MUCH we would not have known otherwise. Our guide Neil knew all the cool places to go to see the local wildlife and we saw a koala, turtle, osprey, heaps of rock wallabies and did a few cool walks to hidden gems like a butterfly forest. Even morning tea is provided. Thanks for a magical Maggie experience!
