A fun night experience and cool atmosphere! It was fun to see underwater!
I had an amazing time! It was my first-ever night kayaking trip, and I was definitely nervous at the start. But our guide was so supportive and stayed with us throughout the experience. By the end, I felt confident and truly enjoyed it.
This excursion was probably one of the worse ones me and my friend, who travel together frequently, have been on. The tour guide barley spoke to us and seemed like he didn't want to be there. He didn't introduce himself, give us any clear instructions, didn't speak on the tour or control the tour at all. He literally forgot to offer us life vests, which another woman on the tour thankfully spoke up and reminded us. I'm not the best swimmer, and it was night out and windy so safety was important here. And then on top of this, I have neck issues and kayaking is usually a find activity for me if it's gentle. I have gone by myself and with others and a 2 seater kayak, which is what this tour was. It didn't say in the itinerary and he also never mentioned that we had to lean back in the kayak and lay down to pass under a boardwalk (2x). I was honestly so upset about this and worried that I flared up my spine so that took a lot of fun out of it. They never once mentioned this. This also isn't the norm for any kayak trip I have been on. Also we paid for 1.5 hours and it only took 37 mins. It felt like I had to rush to keep up because there were others who were stronger upper body and the tour guide did nothing to control the pace of the group. The only reason I know it was under 40 mins was because someone else complained afterwards that it was too quick for what we paid. I tried to reach out after to get a refund because the whole experience was ridiculous but no response. I'm not one to normally complain but will not be paying for a tour with this company again.
Thank you for your review. We would like to clarify several inaccuracies in your account of the tour. Life vests are available on every excursion and are visible at the launch site. The route taken during the LED kayak tour is the same route that has been safely completed by thousands of guests. Passing beneath the boardwalk is a normal and well-known feature of the experience, and water conditions can require guests to adjust their position while navigating that section. If you have pre-existing neck, back, spine, mobility, or other medical concerns that could affect your ability to participate in a kayaking activity, it is the guest’s responsibility to determine whether the excursion is appropriate for them prior to booking. These conditions were not disclosed to our staff before the tour. The pace of the group is determined by the overall conditions and participants on the tour. While our guides monitor guests throughout the excursion, kayaking is an active outdoor activity that requires a reasonable level of physical participation. Finally, tour durations may vary based on weather, water conditions, currents, and group dynamics. The advertised duration reflects the overall experience, including preparation, safety briefing, launching, and time on the water. It is not a guaranteed paddling time. While we respect your opinion, the experience described in your review does not accurately reflect the experience of the overwhelming majority of our guests. We remain committed to providing safe and enjoyable tours and wish you the best in your future travels.
We had a great time with Jeff and Rich on this glowing kayak tour. Jeff kept us safe while Rich provided the artistic flare.
Good experience with a family of 4 - would be fun with a big group of friends as well. A good way to get out on the water without being under the hot sun! JR was accomodating and fun. We enjoyed it!
Absolutely terrible paid for hotel pick up and driver says he’s in a parking lot somewhere and we were waiting at the front of the hotel for over an hour since 7pm and our pick up was 7:45pm the operator lady was completely useless we didn’t even get to go on the tour cause he said we were there but Mr Robert never did his job and pulled up the the dang hotel to actually pick us up. I pay for hotel pickup why the hell and I not picked up at the hotel and they try and send me to find the driver. Absolutely sucks waste of money and time
Hi, We need to clarify the timeline and facts. Our driver arrived at your hotel at 8:03 PM, and both the tour guide and the other guests were waiting in the designated pickup area directly in front of your lobby. You were contacted and informed of the van’s location. The vehicle was at the agreed pickup point, but you chose to remain inside the lobby and did not come out to the front where the van was parked. We do not ask guests to “find” drivers — we park in front of the hotel entrance as scheduled. The tour cannot be delayed indefinitely when other guests are already on board. We stand by our team and the documented pickup time.
I was the only one on the tour and it was the last excursion of my Aruba trip. Despite some early communication hiccups and not seeing many fish, I really enjoyed myself. The activity was relaxing, the conversation was great, and their customer service made the whole experience worthwhile!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We truly appreciate your understanding and are glad to hear that, despite the early communication hiccups and limited wildlife sightings, you still had a relaxing and enjoyable time. We’re especially happy that you valued the conversation and our customer service—those personal moments are a big part of what we aim to offer, particularly on quieter, more intimate outings like yours. Being the only guest on the tour can make for a uniquely peaceful experience, and we’re glad it helped end your Aruba trip on a positive note. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future!
While the LED Kayak experience sounds exciting, there are no great shakes about it. The Tour Operator, "Come and Enjoy Watersports" did not give us a good experience. We booked the 1 hr and 30 minutes tour for the 9 pm slot. I was contacted late in the evening requesting us to advance it to 8 pm and we accommodated the change. The tour operator offered to pick us up by 7.50 pm but we were picked up only by 8.15 pm. The Kayak tour started at 8.25 pm and ended at 8.50 pm. I messaged the tour operator to inform about this as our expectation was a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes. He responded with a lot of arguments and went to the extent of saying that he doesn't believe me, he was beating around the bush continuously with a lot of back and forth texts. He consistently failed to address my simple question of why just 25 to 30 minutes including the glow paint application and wearing the glow sticks (hardly took 2 minutes). His responses were totally uncourteous! He never seemed to listen to my simple issue at all. My question was very simple and straightforward. I honestly feel that he is intentionally digressing from it. My sincere request to Viator is not to tie up with these kind of unprofessional people. This can only hurt Viator's reputation!!
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that this experience did not meet your expectations, and we’d like to clarify a few important points for future travelers. The LED Night Kayak tour was conducted within its normal operational timeframe and followed the itinerary and inclusions outlined in the tour description. Night kayaking experiences differ significantly from daytime tours, and the duration includes preparation, safety instructions, setup, and time on the water, as described in the listing. After the tour was completed, we were contacted with a request for a partial refund based on dissatisfaction. In line with our stated policies and Viator’s guidelines, refunds are not provided after participation when the experience has been delivered as described. It’s also important to note that participation in glow paint and standard tour activities is optional. In this case, some activities typically included in the experience were declined, which does not alter the tour duration or eligibility for a refund. We’d also like to acknowledge that you joined us on another tour and shared positive feedback about that experience, which we truly appreciate. We always strive to deliver consistent, enjoyable experiences and take all feedback seriously. Thank you again for taking the time to review. We remain committed to providing safe, well-organized tours and transparent communication for all our guests.
I don’t like giving poor reviews but unfortunately I cannot give a good review for this. The guide was very nice and friendly but it is overpriced, we were out and back in probably 40 minutes, we paid 30.00 each (4) for transportation ( we were probably 5-10 minutes away) We were driven onto a dark beach with NO lighting except 3 black lights for the glow paint they gave us to apply. Then we had to wait until they loaded all 6 kayaks onto a trailer before they drove us back to our hotel. So 130.00 x 4 people plus tip for the short time in the water not worth it. Plus we did not feel safe. Definitely would not bring children.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. While we respect your opinion, we’d like to clarify a few important points regarding the night kayak tour. First and foremost, the tour is safe. The beach location and low-light setting are intentional and carefully chosen to avoid boat traffic, crowds, and other hazards that would make night kayaking far more dangerous. The black lights are used specifically for the glow paint experience, and full lighting is not used by design so guests can enjoy the glow effect and the natural nighttime environment. Although it may feel unfamiliar, it does not mean it is unsafe. Regarding timing and pricing: the value of the tour is not based solely on time spent paddling. Pricing reflects the full experience and the work involved — transportation, equipment transport, setup, safety briefing, guiding, breakdown, and return logistics. Our team arrives early, transports heavy kayaks, prepares equipment, guides on the water, and ensures every guest returns safely. That time, effort, and responsibility must be compensated fairly. Transportation fees are standard and cover fuel, vehicle use, labor, and insurance, regardless of distance. Even short transfers still require a driver, vehicle, permits, and coordination. As for waiting after the tour, loading multiple kayaks safely takes time and is part of ensuring equipment is secured properly before transport. Rushing this process would compromise safety. We understand that this type of adventure — a natural, low-light, off-the-beaten-path experience — may not be for everyone, particularly for those expecting a resort-style or heavily lit environment. However, describing it as unsafe is inaccurate.
We booked this evening kayak tour expecting a fun and unique experience—and while parts of it were cool, the overall setup felt pretty sketchy. First, we were picked up in a very beat-up van. Our guide, JR, was genuinely kind and friendly, so this isn’t a reflection on him at all. But the transportation alone set the tone. We were then driven down a long dirt road to a deserted stretch of beach where we put on glow paint and got into the kayaks. The glow aspect was fun, and JR let us connect our own music via Bluetooth, which made it more enjoyable. However, the whole environment felt off. If we had our kids with us, I would have been completely freaked out. It didn’t feel organized or secure enough for families. To make things stranger, when the tour ended, a man was asleep in the van carrying the kayaks, which added another layer of “what is happening?” Overall, while JR was great and the idea is fun in theory, I personally wouldn’t recommend this tour—especially not for families or anyone who prefers a more professional, structured experience.
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the glow experience itself and that JR made a positive impression — he truly cares about our guests and their experience. That said, we’d like to firmly clarify a few points, as safety and professionalism are core priorities of our tours. Our transportation and launch locations are intentionally chosen for safety, calm waters, and minimal boat traffic, which is especially important for night kayaking. While the beach and access road may feel remote, they are approved, familiar locations that we use regularly and are part of what allows us to operate safely after dark. Regarding families: we do accommodate families and have hosted many with positive experiences. All tours are guided, supervised, and conducted with proper safety procedures in place. While the setting may not resemble a resort-style operation, it does not mean it is unsafe or unorganized. As for the van and equipment logistics, our vehicles are working commercial transport vehicles used specifically for moving kayaks and guests. The individual you observed was part of the transport operation, and while we understand how that may have looked unusual, it did not impact safety or the integrity of the tour. We respect that this style of adventure may not be for everyone, especially those expecting a highly structured or luxury experience. However, we do feel the tour was misjudged as “sketchy” based on appearance rather than actual safety, experience, or execution. We appreciate your feedback and are always open to improving communication so future guests better understand the nature of this adventure before booking.
