Good but a bit short. I would have like to have a bit more of a view. Also it was a bit frightening as the tram was squeaking and rocking too much. Needed to feel safer.

I wanted to propose to my girlfriend in the cable car over the Thames so I called up to book a last minute glass-floor cable car experience as I was having issues online, but Asonya was so helpful and got it booked for me! Even the staff are flabbergasted at this bizarre rule:- glass bottomed gondula rides can only start and end at Greenwich. We were at Excel for formula E and in between qualifying and the race decided on a round trip (north to south and back). Due to limited time we booked glass bottom upgrade. Normal gondola from north to south then transferred to glass bottomed. When we got off we were told we couldn't get off a glass bottom gondola at that station. We explained and the staff member was astonished. Kind of feel ripped off, but that's London I suppose.

Due to operational procedures and the current booking system setup, guests are only able to board and disembark from glass-floor cabins at the Greenwich Peninsula terminal. Unfortunately, this means that boarding or ending a glass-floor journey at the Royal Docks terminal (ExCeL side) is not currently possible. We understand how this may have caused some frustration, especially given the tight schedule around the Formula E event, and we appreciate your feedback. It has been shared with the relevant teams. It crosses the Thames, 90 metres up, giving 360° views. St Paul’s dome’s right there, clear as day. Proper impressive. It’s the only cable car in the city, runs between Greenwich Peninsula and Royal Docks. Folks call it the “sky corridor over the Thames” and fair enough. The floors are fully glass, same with the skylights. Look down and you’ll see the Thames waves, look up and there’s the London Eye mixed with the city skyline. Great for snaps or just zoning out. Photos: golden hour an hour before sunset is ace. Light gilds the Thames, city lights coming on. Top for silhouettes. East side faces the London Eye. Dusk, sun sets right, so point west for Big Ben and the O2. West side overlooks Greenwich’s Ferris wheel and old buildings. Stand on the glass floor for extra oomph.

We allowed ourselves to be persuaded into a glass-floored cabin for £50 (for two adults) both ways and then found out we couldn't get back in because we hadn't been told we couldn't get out of the cabin. This is fraud!

Mark has received us very friendly and helpful. We got on the side of North Greenwich station. Is well indicated on the signs. We chose the Glass Floor experiece and was a nice experience. Together with Christian he made sure we could continue carefree to catch our flight at London City Airport. An outing that is worthwhile.
