Loch Ness , Outlander , Inverness Castle , Clava och Culloden

Genom att kombinera både vår Outlander-tur och vår Loch Ness-tur med lokala Highland-guider reser vi från Invergordon längs stranden av Cromarty Firth och tar oss till Beauly , stannar till vid Robertsons Farm Shop för att se några Highland Coos . Vi fortsätter till Beauly Priory , 1200-talsklostret byggt för en orden av Valliscaulianska munkar. Priory var en gammal begravningsplats för klanerna Fraser och Mackenzie och har varit med i Outlander. Lämnar Beauly bakom oss fortsätter vi över Culnakirk Hill till Drumnadrochit och besöker Urquhart Castle som sitter på en udde som sticker ut i Loch Ness , utsikten över Loch är fantastisk härifrån och det var i närheten där St Columba sägs ha sett Loch Ness Monster. Vi beger oss sedan mot Inverness där ni får möjlighet att besöka den nya upplevelsen av Inverness Castle, äta lunch och se lite av stadens centrum innan vi reser ut till Clava Cairns och Culloden Battlefield innan vi tar er tillbaka till hamnen.

På vägen till Beauly stannar vi till vid Robertsons Farm Shop i Beauly där vi kommer att se några magnifika Highland Coos, inklusive en underbar Black Bull vid namn Jamie Mackenzie Fraser efter Outlander Hero.
Beauly Priory grundades på 1200-talet som ett kloster för Valliscaulianska munkorden från Dijon i Frankrike , Oliver Cromwells styrkor var ansvariga för att förstöra Priory på 1500-talet . I århundraden var detta en begravningsplats för klanhövdingarna Fraser och Mackenzie och deras familjer. Deras är en Outlander-koppling eftersom det var här Claire träffade siaren.
Urquhart Castle ligger på en udde som skjuter ut mot Loch Ness och har bekämpats många gånger genom åren. Utsikten över Loch Ness från slottet är fantastisk och under besöket kan du gå och utforska ruinerna av detta 1000 år gamla slott och du kan gå ner till vattensidan av Loch Ness. Håll ögonen öppna ifall Nessie dyker upp.
Inverness är känt som höglandets huvudstad. Vi stannar till i Inverness och besöker den gamla högkyrkan där jakobitiska fångar avrättades efter slaget och du kommer att se muskötbollsmärken på tornmuren där avrättningarna ägde rum. Du kommer också att ha möjlighet att besöka den nyaste besökare sevärdheter i Skottland - Inverness Castle där du också kan ta lite lunch och se några av denna historiska stad.
Vi kommer att besöka Clava Cairns och du kan gå in i 2 av de 3 Cairns, denna 4000 år gamla bronsålderskyrkogård är där Diana Gabaldon tog inspiration för sin outlander-serie och du kommer att se Cleft-stenen och stencirklarna runt Cairns.
Slaget vid Culloden 1746 var det sista slaget som utkämpades på brittisk mark . Vi vandrar runt de viktigaste områdena i Slagfältet där de tyngsta striderna ägde rum och vår Guide kommer att berätta om jakobiterna och slaget, du kommer att se minnesröset, brunnen av de döda och gravstenar av klanerna samt Leanach stuga. Detta besök är högst upp på listan för Outlander fans.

Vi hämtar alla resenärer från hamngaten inom en timme efter att ditt fartyg anlänt och vi återlämnar resenärerna till gaten inom angiven tid. Vi kommer att bekräfta med resenärer upphämtningstiden. Vi väntar utanför grinden på andra sidan vägen på att du ska stiga av och vi har en tavla med ditt namn.

Taking this private tour was a great decision. Lawrence, our driver and guide for the day, was excellent, taking great care of us, making sure we got into the venues, castles, etc. not just dropping us off in the parking lot. Professional, he shared his knowledge and history of the area. Schedule was flexible, so we were able to spend a little more time in Inverness. Met us at the Invergordon cruise port and returned us on time. Would book again!

Lawrence was very accommodating to customizing our tour. Was a WONDERFUL time! He took in to account our preferences, and even did a little research on family backgrounds and clan affiliation. It was my best 60th birthday so far.

Billy was the absolute best tour guide! Our group had a wonderful time! He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about all of our stops! Every stop on the tour was amazing! My favorite was the Cawdor Castle and Gardens!

Our tour guide, Kevin, showed us the grandeur of Lochness, the exquisite gardens of Cawdor Castle, an old Stonehenge like ruin, called Balnuaren of Clava, the site of the Battle of Culloden, a visit to see the "hurry coos" (hairy cows) and lunch at a fantastic local eatery. We were in a caravan of three cars snd all the hosts were accommodating. They also provided us with tasty local snacks and water. Thank you for sharing your beautiful homeland with us! We visited so many places but did not feel rushed.

Billy met us at the port of Invergordon, on time and ready to show us Scotland. I had a few key places I wanted to see, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Battle of Culloden and Clava Cairns. Billy made many more stops and I was very impressed with his knowledge. I truly appreciate the extra effort and time to show us as much as he could. We had a short stop in Canterbury and Billy recommended a lovely lunch cafe. This tour went beyond my expectations. At the end of the tour, he gifted us with some lovely Tea cakes. I highly recommend Highlander Private Tours. The cost shadows with the experience, time, and memories.
I would recommend this tour to anyone coming off a cruise ship and has a day to spend in the area. Billy Maclean was our tour guide and took very good care of us. He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed our day with him. He was very flexible given we docked late and was able to fit everything in we wanted to do.

I enjoyed my trip to Inverness very much. The driver showed us many different sightseeing attractions and told us something about the history. As an "Outlander-fan" the driver took us for instance to the locations the author Diana Gabaldon got her ideas from. I thank you Billie very much for this unusual experience. I like to think back on this journey.
