Historiska Liwa Oasis ligger vid den norra kanten av Rub' Al Khali (det tomma kvarteret) - världens största oavbrutna öken. Liwa Oasis drar nytta av ett grundvattenbord som ligger nära ytan och som har stöttat jordbruk och djurhållning i generationer. Detta skapar en dramatisk kontrast i landskapet mellan gröna dadelpalmlundar och höga orangeröda sanddyner. Liwa Oasis sträcker sig i en öst–västlig båge i mer än 100 kilometer och har några av världens största sanddyner, med många som reser sig mer än 150 meter i höjd. Resenärer kan ta en picknicklunch mitt i Oasen.
Tel Moreeb, som ligger i Abu Dhabis majestätiska Al Dhafra-region, anses av många vara världens högsta sanddyn, på över 300 meter hög, med sin 50-graders lutning som gör den till en utmärkt destination för motorsportsentusiaster.

The Liwa desert was amazing – endless dunes and really peaceful. The 4x4 dune bashing was fun, and the stops for photos and the oasis made it feel like a proper escape from the city. It’s a long day, but worth it if you want to see the real desert.
Once the dunes appeared, especially Moreeb dune that golden light, rolling sand, quiet sky...it felt like stepping into another world. Just plan for a long day, travel prepared, and let yourself slow down when you can.

The dune bashing experience was wild and thrilling! Our driver was skilled and made the whole ride feel like a rollercoaster — up and down the towering dunes with the sand spraying across the windows. I couldn’t stop laughing (and screaming a little!). It was the perfect balance of adrenaline and awe. One of the best parts of the day was stopping at the top of one of the highest dunes and just… being silent. No cars, no noise, just the wind and the sheer vastness of the desert.
