House of Virgin Maryis den plats där Mary kan ha tillbringat sina sista dagar. Faktum är att hon kan ha kommit i området tillsammans med Saint John. Denna plats förklarades officiellt till helgedom för den romersk-katolska kyrkan 1986 och sedan dess har den blivit en populär pilgrimsfärdplats. Påven Paul VI besökte helgedomen 1967. Besöket i huset (kyrkan) tar cirka 45 minuter och efter vårt besök; det kommer att vara en 5 min bilresa till Efesos.
Efesos är ett exceptionellt vittnesbörd om de kulturella traditionerna under de hellenistiska, romerska imperialistiska och tidiga kristna perioderna. Efesos är en viktig plats för kristendomen; att vara en av de sju uppenbarelsekyrkorna. Aposteln Paulus tillbringade troligen två och ett halvt år i Efesos under sin tredje missionärsresa. Om två timmar ska du utforska staden genom att gå på marmorgatorna, tillsammans med vår engelsktalande reseguide. I vår turné kommer vi att se Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domatian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, Latriens. Besöken i privata huset (så kallad bordell, 'Terrasshus') är ett valfritt besök för en extra 25 ₺ / person och din guide bör informeras innan du kommer. Efter terrasshus fortsätter vi med utforskningen med Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theather, Arcadiane (Harbour Road).
Vi fortsätter med besöket i Templet av Artemis; vilket är ett av de sju underverk från antiken. Här kommer det att vara en god chans att ta foton av St.Johnand-kyrkanMoské av İsa Bey från den bästa vinkeln också.
Sirince är en gammal by "Rum" (bysantinska greker) belägen på Selcuk-kullarna och 7 km från Efesos. Som en del av fredsfördraget efter Turkiska nationella kriget (1919-1922), en formell utbyte av turkiska och greker, enades om och Sirince är bebodd av turkiska nu. Byn är populär för vackra traditionella hus och fruktproducerad vinproduktion; och du kommer att ha en ledig tid för vinprovning.

Our guide was fantastic, very good-natured and did a great job managing the group which was diverse with some young children and older people so we didn’t move very fast. We would have enjoyed more time in Ephesus which was the main reason we came to the area. We did add the Terrace houses (paying additional 15€ each onsite when asked if anyone wanted to stop there - it’s inside the ancient city) though nobody else in the tour did this. We thought it was super interesting to see what an actual Roman house and village looked like. But had to zoom through it since timing so tight and this took even more time away from the short duration to see Ephesus ruins.

What a beautiful trip with lots of explanations about Ephesus and Sirinze by our guide Hüray and driver Ali who drove us through a beautiful landscape. Booked through Get Your Guide with this company. Excellent day trip. Gulay, our guide, was extremely informative and spoke excellent English. The tour gave us plenty of time at each of the sites, and also included a very tasty, filling lunch. The bus was clean and spacious. We particularly enjoyed that this was a small group experience as it was also very nice to get to meet the other passengers from a wide variety of countries. Ephesus itself was incredible, such an interesting and enjoyable place to visit. I would advise visitors to wear sensible shoes as the marble sloping walkways are very slippery. The village of Sirence was also very pretty and we enjoyed visiting here as part of the trip. Overall, we felt the trip was well organised and good value for money.
Pick up and drop off to my hotel door were seamless. Our guide Nizam (sp?) was amazing. So nice and knowledgeable. He made everyone feel comfortable and made us laugh the whole day. I’m especially grateful for his timing of the day. He kept us ahead of cruise ship groups and out of the sun at the hottest times of day.

It was a great tour to see everything in one day. I wish there was no shopping stops. Nixam is funny and great guide to keep you engaged.
