"Le Macchine di Leonardo", världens största (PRIVATA) samling av Leonardo da Vinci-maskiner föds efter barnpassion av Carlo (född den 25 februari 1936), grundaren av familjen och företaget Niccolai. Särskilt skickliga hantverkare, medlemmarna i familjen Niccolai har hittills utvecklat 250 olika modeller och 50 interaktiva modeller baserat på Da Vinci-koder och på historiska dokument med material från Leonardos tid: trä, metall, rep och tyger. Enligt de florentinska hantverkarnas oskrivna regler har Carlo Niccolai fört vidare sin passion till sina söner och barnbarn, som tack vare sina kunskaper om ny teknik har berikat samlingen med nya modeller och organiserat mer än hundra utställningar över hela världen i de senaste tio åren. Utställningen är på 850 kvadratmeter exponering i tre våningar

Leonardo Da Vinci-maskiner visas på Galleria Michelangelo, där Macchiaioli brukade mötas, på en av de mest kända gatorna i Florens centrum. Mer än 50 modeller visas i fyra rum: den största är tillägnad civila maskiner, i det andra rummet visas flygmaskiner, krigsmaskiner finns i det tredje och i det fjärde kan den nyligen utvecklade samlingen av anatomiska modeller finnas beundrad. De flesta av modellerna är riktiga arbetsmaskiner. En dokumentär om Leonardo Da Vincis liv och verk visas på storbildsskärmar. Galleriet har avtal med Caffé Michelangiolo, restaurangen inne på utställningsområdet. I bokhandeln hittar du många publikationer och prylar.

We arrived a little early and the staff member that greeted us was quite rude, this was a little off putting. We returned later and once inside the museum we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The amount of inventions were impressive and having an opportunity to try many of them out was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Misleadingly, we thought we had bought a ticket at the museum in Leonardo da Vinci's birthplace. So that was a different museum.
What a consummate genius with so many brilliant engineering designs. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Interesting , worth a look Would be difficult if you had children. It can get noisy when there are lots of kids
Loved it! I liked that you could explore all of Da Vinci’s inventions at your own pace. They even had samples you could try out to see them in motion.
A very nice and educational small museum. To do as a family with the children
Booked a last minute ticket for the wrong day by accident and the staff were very kind and a great help changing the ticket for me. Overall the museum was okay. Not quite what I was looking for as it was more for kids.
Buy your ticket online, it's cheaper. The museum was a nice fun walk through, very informative on Da Vinci's creations and inspirations. A lot of interactive exhibits too, good for kids and adults. Took about 30-45 min to walk through completely. Not too crowded of a place too which was nice.
It is a very interesting museum. There were lots of children on the day we visited, so be patient around the interactive models.
Highly recommended experience. Beautiful museum, very well-stocked with many interactive exhibits suitable for both adults and children.
