Lecce till Cesine Protected Natural Reserve helgens cykeltur

Området som skiljer Lecce från havet bevisar skönheten i Salentos landskap och bevarar fortfarande spåren av den viktiga roll som detta område spelat i historien. Rider vi ut från Lecce mot sydost genom sekundära vägar, kommer vi att nå den befästa byn Acaya, en Messapic-plats där du kommer att beundra det majestätiska medeltida slottet, byns väggar och dess gamla stadsplan, som fortfarande finns bevarade. Sedan kommer vi att röra oss mot WWF-naturparken "Le Cesine", som döljer många vackra växter och vattenfåglar. Så vi kommer att friska upp oss med ett skönt dopp i Torre Specchia och vi kommer att cykla tillbaka till Lecce och korsa ett landskap fullt av olivträd och små byar

Vi passerar den medeltida staden Acaya och tar en titt på slottet och dess försvarsmur. Vi stannar på det stora torget för en "Caffé leccese" (kaffe med is och mandelsirap) paus.
Vi cyklar genom detta välbevarade naturreservat - där du kommer att bli berusad av doften av eukalyptus och andra autoktonväxter/träd.
Om vädret är bra kommer vi att stanna här för en simpaus, för att återställa under de varmaste timmarna och äta smörgåsen som vi brukar köpa i Acaya.
Tillbaka på rätt spår genom några små byar som Vanze och Strudà, där vi kan ta en paus. När vi rider genom några landsvägar ser vi olivträd, igenkännbara för sin storlek och för stockarna, verkliga konstverk gjorda av naturen. Vi går tillbaka till Lecce genom sidogator mellan kampanjerna.

We were in Salento with friends in May 2025 and booked the tour Lecce-Otranto-Gallipoli-Lecce with Salento Bici Tour. 1 week of great weather, beautiful landscapes, good hotels and good atmosphere among the international participants. The booking, the communication, the electric bikes, the shuttle to Brindisi airport, everything perfect. We can recommend Salento Bici Tour!
Giulia from Salento Bici Tour did a fantastic job. We really enjoyed our trip through the countryside to the sea. She had interesting information to share about the area, kept a pace that was easy to follow and made sure we had adequate stops for breaks and refreshments. I highly recommend this tour.
when you meet special people by accident! I would call the experience with Carlo and his collaborators this. People passionate about their work, their land and meeting others. We agreed before our arrival in Puglia various trips and experiences (bicycles, kayaks, aperitifs, sailing, beach, etc.) because we were a large group with lively kids! Carlo's team satisfied us fully, giving a special flavor to this trip, like the figs tasted along the rides! If lying in the sun is not enough... I absolutely recommend it!
Beautiful experience. Carlo professional and very nice and his assistants really always ready to meet every need or whim of us customers. The places are great. We particularly enjoyed ride around Leuca. Tours also suitable for children. Highly recommended!
We did the tour with Giulia. It was just fantastic! A mix of culture, landscape and sympathy. Giulia accompanied us and presented your country step by step with real enthusiasm and enthusiasm in all facets. History, botany, gastronomy: a pleasant "full immersion" in the Salento region. I did the self guided tour. Good bike,well prepared and GPS worked really good. A nice route through Lecce city, the small vilages south of Lecce, the olive groves and to the see. Although, the olive groves are what is left of it, this because all the olive trees are dead caused by the bacteria.

Preparation, correctness and beauty of the places. We were able to reach the nature reserve along roads away from traffic and surrounded by nature. The visit was very nice with trained guides and refreshment attentive to my Food needs.
It was a perfect day to bike. Our inspiring guide Melo appeared to be an expert in nature and food. After a long ride in the suburbs of Lecce and the Cesine parc , we enjoyed a fantastic Picnic on the beach where Melo , chef in natural food, served us local dishes and great stories.
Cube woman bike and Scott.man bike. Scott was brand new. Both excellent quality, also for off road. We went to San Foca, some parts off road. Very nice lady giving advice. I would go there again.
