Too many people on tour. A large group had five little kids under five/six, including two that had to be on a “leash”. The guide managed the situation very well. But it was distracting. The tour felt very rushed.
We were a group of four aged 18-78. The Lava Tunnel was a unanimous hit. My twin granddaughters loved it. Our guide was very informative and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I’m in good shape for my age but I would hesitate to recommend it for anyone with walking or stability issues. However, I would recommend it very strongly for everyone else!
Starting with a great customer service and polite responses from Anna and Marta and ending on absolutely amazing experiance thanks to Kalli our guide that day... This company is professional, they know what they do and are very polite which for me is really important. Our Guide Kalli had an enormous sens of humor that made my day :) The Lava Tunnel inside looks so beautiful and it is worth of going there and see it yourself. No pictures ever will show you how beautiful it is and.. it is the only one in the world with funny lights ;) I will say no more. Just go and check! :) Anna and Artur
We booked this as we were local and the guide was very entertaining and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide had lots of jokes and stories to tell, he involved the audience which made everyone get involved. You need to wrap up warm though as it was very cold in there, even in summer. We will return when we are back
Very unique and interesting experience. Highly recommend
Do not waste your time and money… there are so many better things to do in Iceland. This is undoubtedly the highest price in the world to visit a cave… which, moreover, has absolutely no interest! How dare you charge an entrance fee of €65 (excluding transportation costs) for a visit of less than an hour during which you spend 40 minutes standing around while the guide rambles on? The visitable part is ridiculously short, and there is nothing to see except piles of rocks on the sides. I fear that the positive reviews come (if they are real) from visitors who have never visited a real cave. We are fortunate to have in Europe beautiful caves that truly deserve a detour and are so much more impressive and breathtaking than this pseudo attraction for wealthy tourists. I suggest that for about twenty euros, they visit the Padirac chasm, the Aven Armand, or the Lascaux cave (among many others) in France, and they will better understand the meaning of my comment and the reality of the lava tunnel scam… Finally, as a great connoisseur of Iceland, I want to emphasize that this magnificent country has many grand natural sites that are freely accessible and free of charge. To stick to the surroundings of Reykjavik, it is enough to mention Geysir, Pingvellir, and Gullfoss to be convinced… without spending €65 for a few blocks of lava! To be avoided and definitely not recommended.
What an amazing way to kickoff our Golden Circle day! Yona was an AMAZING guide and this was definitely unlike any other “cave” experience we’ve had. Definitely would recommend.
Lava tunnel tour was amazing. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. Our guide was both knowledgeable and humourous in that quirky Iceland manner. I highly recommend this tour.
I’ve been in many caves, but this lava tunnel was fascinatingly different. Thanks to our guide Francesca, I learned so much — and had a great time in the process. This tunnel tour pairs well with the Lava Show in Reykjavik.
Incredible guide full of energy and humor; she gave us a unique experience.
