Edgar was kind and patience and very knowledgeable and passionate. We also met his wife and baby. I loved the chance to do a honey facial mask! And guess the monoflower flavors.

This was an awesome experience. Edgar, our guide, was passionate about the sanctuary and its many types of bees. The tour was interesting and informative - there’s a type of stingless bee there that’s endemic to Costa Rica! The short history of bees, the tour of the hives, honey tasting, and the honey facial treatments, were a blast. If you are someone who cares about conservation, or who likes learning while also having fun, this is for you. We highly recommend this tour. Thanks to Edgar and the rest of the Arenal Bee Garden for such a great experience!

My husband and I visited Costa Rica in January of this year, and we toured the Arenal Bee Garden while staying in La Fortuna. It was SO cool. Edgar was so knowledgeable and passionate about his work and we learned so much from him. We were the only ones that signed up for the 1:30pm tour that day, so we had a private session! This meant we were able to stay and talk to him longer and I'm so glad we could. I am in school for Biology so I could have sat and talked forever. The variety of bees in the garden were wonderful, and it was so interesting to see (and taste!) the differences in their honey based on the type of flower they frequented. Edgar pointed out the iguanas that hang out in the trees, we saw several different bird species (including hummingbirds), and numerous butterflies. I would highly recommend visiting the Arenal Bee Garden if you are staying in La Fortuna. It was very educational and run by someone so passionate about the environment and his country. Edgar is truly a wonderful person and we admire all of his efforts and hard work he has put in to provide a place for the native bees, as well as a place to educate visitors. A MUST-DO ACTIVITY! We will 100% visit again if we are in the area!

We had such an amazing experience visiting this small family farm! Their passion for native stingless bees is truly inspiring, and you can feel the care they put into everything they do. The tour was informative, personal, and very engaging. We loved tasting the different types of honey — each one was unique and delicious. The natural face mask was also a wonderful touch and left our skin feeling so fresh. Everything about the experience felt authentic, high-quality, and thoughtfully done. Most importantly, the people were incredibly warm and welcoming. You can tell this is a labor of love for them. We highly recommend visiting if you have the chance — it was one of the highlights of our trip!

If you want to fill a lot of interesting information definitely this is the place, from the moment we arrived Edgar and his family were waiting for us, without a doubt the best guide we started the tour with a lot of interesting information we loved the experience I recommend it 100%
